WMW Full Length Rack for 4th Gen T4R's!!

You'll regret it when you see someone with a full rack. This rack is bigger and carries more weight than anything using the factory rails. This is the best deal going and I can't say enough good things about the quality and customer service.

completely agree!!! josh makes a great product at an awesome price!! i absolutely love mine and use it all of the time to carry all kinds of stuff!! plus they just make the t4r look soooo steezy!

I have a question for all of you who have applied your own fairing to these racks, did it take care of the wind noise?

I really like these racks, and want to pick one up once I am recovered from my lift $$$ (everything is ordered, just waiting for it all to come in).

I had a similar type rack on a crew cab/full size pickup years ago, the wind noise drove me crazy. I ended up taking it off and selling it cheap. I wouldn't want to end up in that position again.

I think a lot depends on whether you have a sunroof or not. I don't have a sunroof but my Bajarack has a fairing. I don't hear it.

How so? I had no sunroof on the pickup I mentioned and the noise was enough to make you want to kill somebody.

My T4R has a sunroof (regrettably, I find them to be nothing more than a source of problems).

On my third gen, a simple plexi fairing cut the wind noise 100%. Without the fairing the wind noise was more like loud tire noise and was something I got used to in a week. I also have a sunroof but its sealed shut so might as well not be there...

Yeah, I'm not much of a fan of tire noise either.

When/if this T4R is turned into a more serious off road machine (aggressive tires) I will likely not drive it on the road as much simply to avoid the tire noise from aggressive tires.

In the end, you have a fine product! I am likely going to pick one up (watching for that next sale...............)

My last truck had a Bajarack with fairing, I removed the fairing to paint it and the noise was much more noticible as that truck had a sunroof. If closed the insulated sheet over the sunroof it was much less noticible. I 'think' that not having a sunroof insulates out some of the roof rack noises. Again this was an unscientific test and I did not have a decibel meter to measure.

My tires are pretty loud, but I didn't notice any significant extra wind noise from above when I installed my WMW 4x8 sized rack. I've been running it bare without any sort of fairing since I had it installed. Not sure if there will be more noise once I install the LED bars. I was going to make an aluminum fairing that had cutouts and fit around the LED bars after I got those put on.

Any thoughts on a roof rack minus the upper loop to the front of the runner. Just following the same width from back all the way to front ? Or even making it a bit smaller then it is to fit a double or single light bar?
What was the general desighn thought behind the larger diameter in the front above the sunroof ?

I've been wanting to do one like that for a while now actually, I think it would look sweet. The original design thought for the front and the rise built into it was to allow room for an LED bar, actually 2 smaller bars in each opening. I have built a few now for customers who supplied their own LED bar for custom fitment into the rack. Don't let the pictures fool you; these racks are very low profile and the inside height of the spaces up front is only 3". The rise also allows the front and rear of the rack to be nearly level (say if you laid a board across from front to rear).

Having one stop behind the sunroof won't really work as the front mounts are sort-of beside the sunroof. I offer custom fitting of customer supplied light bars at no extra cost, I just need the light bar in my hands, measurements alone won't quite work.

love your racks and wish i could afford one but i think that something like the fj roof rack would look nice. have the rear like you do but when it gets up to the sunroof only have side bars that end at the roof mount

Yes, the approx. 3 inches is the space from the top of the bottom tube, to the bottom of the top tube. total height of the front section, from bottom of bottom to top of top is around 5-1/4". Happy to answer any questions you might have as far as ordering or different heights or whatever, shoot me a PM if you like.

I actually tried one of those before, only built one and it flew over like a lead balloon so it was the one and only. That being said, I do custom stuff all the time so draw up your design and hit me up!

WOW, you are the FIRST person (that i've seen) do what I originally wanted to do with the openings. I like it, and good job on the brackets. I've noticed the brackets they come with are like towers!
