won't start.....

After cleaning out a clogged egr valve truck ran fine but high idle..disassembled air intake system and sprayed everything down with throttle body cleaner , sprayed inside throttle body itself...changed oil....now won't start ..blows heavy smoke from cleaner ,but no fire...is it extremely flooded , or did I screw something up with that cleaner

Keep cranking, it'll start. Or you can remove your plugs and crank the engine to blow all the garbage out. You might as well replace the plugs if you're going to do that.

Also check to see that you don't have a massive air leak somewhere.

Thank you for your help...turns out it was the air flow metering sensor ...unplugged it...fired right up...replaced sensor....all is good

Hmmmmmm. I might give this a try. Been having cold start issues for a while now and after replacing the battery from killing it twice......I need to find the issue. I have a '91 V6 4wd Auto.

But for anyone curious, here is the problem I am having.

Hard first start in the AM. Turns over fine, but just won't catch. After cranking on it, sounds like it wants to start and fires a few cylinders. Once it does that, I have to hold the gas pedal just right (1/8th down), or it floods out. Once it is started, though, it runs great and don't have a problem with it the rest of the day.

On a side note, I just threw a CEL today "7-1" so now I am going to need to address the smog system too.
