Just seeing if there are any fellow fitness enthusiasts out there :)

I'm into powerlifting and usually train 3-4 days/week. Anyone else into the sport?

Also, I wanted to use this an opprotunity offer my help to anyone who had any questions, or what have you, regarding fitness and exercise.

This site has helped me tremendously and just wanted to return the favor.

I hate talking about myself, but I'm not just a joe-schmoe who goes to the gym and reads fitness magazines. :p I have a in B.S. Kinesiology emphasis in Fitness, a NASM Personal Training Certification (for what thats worth), and a National Powerlifting Record w/~6 years of weight training experience.

Let me know what I can do. PM or posts are fine :boink:

I am into fitness big time. Been weight lifting steadily for 15 years and really enjoy it. I also enjoy swimming and running regularly, but not as much as lifting. I also like outdoor sports (hiking, climbing skiing etc.).

While I am certainly not a power lifter, I do incorporate weight training into my total fitness regimen. I am a cyclist first and foremost, so it is not advantageous for me to carry around a lot of bulk; however, I do like to have a bit more upper body than some cyclist and find myself in the 5' 11", 175 pound range. I am lean and fit, though not huge or explosive. I admire those who lift for power, or those who lift for definition. As long as you are doing something, you are alright in my book.

Just got back from the gym. I "TRIED" (important word is tried) to go 3 times a week during lunch. I don't power lift. Just feel good that I went to the gym today.

"The greatest feeling you can get in a gym or the most satisfying feeling you can get in the gym is the pump. Let's say you train your biceps, blood is rushing in to your muscles and that's what we call the pump. Your muscles get a really tight feeling like your skin is going to explode any minute and its really tight and its like someone is blowing air into your muscle and it just blows up and it feels different, it feels fantastic. It's as satisfying to me as cumming is, you know, as in having sex with a woman and cumming. So can you believe how much I am in heaven? I am like getting the feeling of cumming in the gym; I'm getting the feeling of cumming at home; I'm getting the feeling of cumming backstage; when I pump up, when I pose out in front of 5000 people I get the same feeling, so I am cumming day and night. It's terrific, right? So you know, I am in heaven."

What are your thoughts on the routines they use over at Westside?

I incorporate alot of their exercises into my own routine.

Dynamic Effort Days and Max Effort Days.

Chain and Band work, Box squats. etc

Westside is good stuff

Can anyone have a 6-pack? I am 23, 6'2, and weigh 190. I read some places that no matter how much some people work out, they will never get a six pack.

true, false?

I'm trying to get back into working out right now, but I'm not too sure of a routine. I lifted in high school for football, so I'm familiar with all the equipment, but just don't know of a good routine. Can you guy suggest a good site to check out for some guidance. I'm just looking to get back into shape, no real heavy lifting. Plus I'm working out at my office so we have the basic set up (free weights, treadmill, stairmaster, bench, squat machine.

You should learn as many exercises as possible and keep those in your head. Don't worry about routines. So many people look for routines and get comfortable with them, then they don't change that routine even when hitting a plateau. Eventually it will become boring and then going to the gym isn't fun. I walk into the gym knowing what body part(s) I'll be focusing on and that's it. The rest is in my head and it depends on what I feel like doing that day. This method also teaches you to listen to your body instead of treating it like a machine.
