Woah! Are saying I shouldn't have to move my hand to check the gauges? Sounds like a design flaw in your hands. They should totally be clear so you can see your fuel gauge without moving you hand.

I saw this thread bumped earlier tonight, as a safety precaution and a healthy dose of paranoia, I made my wife hold the half gallon of Ketel One in her lap the whole ride home. I think the kids were buckled in their car seats too... probably.
Can't be too safe with such a serious design flaw as has been pointed out.
You should sell the 4Runner and get a bus pass. Driving is not for everyone.

Side note: I didn't realize people actually did the 10 and 2 steering whee thing. I don't think I've ever had two hands on the steering wheel of a car of any vintage, you know - except when I'm sitting in the sports cars I can't afford making vroom vroom noises.

I noticed moist women drive 10-2. Most guys do whatever.
I live on a pretty steep hill and driveway. Once I pulled head in and a watermelon fell out and went all the way down the hill. I saw it a couple days later around the corner and half way down the cross street. It looked intact.
I always back in now.

Sounds like you were stupid enough to not drive the vehicle for a decent length of time before hand and actually observe what you were buying. Sucks to be you lol. That 4" rake can be because shocks are getting worn out, Did you honestly think you could buy a USED vehicle and expect it to be pristine? If it pains you that much then sell it. get over it and move on. If all your gonna do is ***** on the forum then leave. If you want possible solutions, nut up, shut up and ask for help. It sound like you got swindled by the previous owner and they band-aided things to trick you. Take your anger out on them not this forum of helpful people.

I don't know how many power points you have, but you have to realize that back in '07 most people didn't have multiple devices requiring constant charging. My non-smart cell phone at the time could last several days between charges with normal use. It isn't a design flaw if it met the needs at the time the design was done. Maybe you can't, but normal people can. First, there's the second cig lighter in the center console, unless you have the 110v outlet. In that case, you have a 110v outlet. Also, I know it's insanely expensive at $9.99 with free Prime shipping, but you could always try something like this:

We really should at least give him credit for doing a search and finding this particular thread even if he didn't realize it was in the 5th Gen forum. Even with the 5th Gen I have a triple outlet plugged into the center console for all my gadgets.
[MENTION=104049]marshal[/MENTION] I usually drive with both hands on the wheel now, but I didn't until after I raced roundy round for several years. And the "experts" now advocate 9-3 because it gets your hands out of the way if the airbag is activated. I just feel like it gives me better fine control of the steering. But I am getting older so what do I know.... :lookout:

I've owned 4 SUVs now and you will learn to put those precious liquor bottles in the front passenger seat. You could even buckle it in make sure it's safe! :rofl: Or if you want to hide them wedge them under the drivers seat on the floor in the back seat area. But if you're set on putting them in the trunk bungie cords work fantastic for securing bottles, boxes, beer, coolers, dead hookers etc.
