this is like a confession thread....
A few years ago I tapped the fuel pump wire to install a fuel cutoff switch. Once everything was taken apart I realized I didn't have my crimping set or soldering gun so I just twisted the wire together, taped it and put everything back in place.
Well 18 months go by and then one day my truck just out of the blue wont start. I ended up getting towed to the local shop after they examined my truck for about 30 mins the owner (who deals with a lot of San Diego Toyota owners modding their trucks) asked me if I had a cutoff switch. I told him I did and he checked it and go figure the wire was disconnected. He soldered it on and I was out of there for $80 (1 hr) labor.
To this day that remains the only time I have had my 4Runner towed

Hitch mounted tire carrier on a hitch that hangs low because of a 2" body lift...I get chills just looking at the pic...ewww:barf:
Wow, I'm cringing! I'm so used to seeing your bad ass 4runner the way it is now (it's one of my very favorites). Glad you ditched the tire carrier!
Clear corners are on my list of regretful mods. I bought some really crappy ones off ebay a while back. They came complete with cracked lenses, and the plastic tabs for the screws that holds them in were practically paper thin. I rocked em for a few months and put the normal corners back on. I wish I could sell them but I have morals.
My 58" Trail Gear sliders were one of the worst mods I've done. They were way too short, but I welded them on anyways figuring they're better than nothing. Within a few months, I jacked up both my rear doors with scratches and small dents. Then I had to cut the sliders off and Driffter33 and I had to sleeve the legs and weld on better sliders which was pretty time consuming.
Oh, and the 1st lift I had on this truck (Daystar 2.5") was a big waste. The ride was horrible and then it sagged about 1". Only had it for about a year and replaced it with OME stuff.

Billet grille... 80 dollars for some aftermarket POS grille that looks god awful compared to the new OEM one I just got, and the 80 dollar billet inserts that werent even perfect fit.
That, and all the damned bling bling comments and **** I got for having it.
Those Tacoma rims were pretty ugly, too. Spent way too much for them.

I honestly liked your grill like that......it could have been worse....you could have been rockin 22" Wheels! HA HA HA!

LOL, Glad that isn't real. One of my dad's friends left those rims at his house over the weekend so I seized the opportunity for the pic :biggrin2:
