Fixable. I need to find a painter though.
Backing up of an obstacle got tippy. I'm really not liking the auto tranny off road and no locker so I think I'm regearing(maybe) but I'm slapping a Detroit locker on it with in this month. This rig is very limited without a locker. Also need to fix some things that were not done very well by the previous owner and get the tranny fixed up again from the previous owner.

My coworker couldn't get his 2wd pickup off the jobsite due to the mud being slicker than snot so if took my 4wd drive 4runner and ended up slidding off the road. It took a front loader to get him back on the road.

went sturgeon fishing with my old 2nd gen as i drove down the levee to park i didnt notice that the river was flooded to the top a day before so right when my tire hit the bottom it just sunk and i didnt hav any recovery gear because everything was for fishing we had to walk like 2 miles to a farm house to get a shovel took about 4 hours of digging and puting branches udder the tires and 4 people pushing lol

regear and learn to use both feet. locker is helpful and allows you to go slow and not have to bump up to get over anything

na the river was too high alot of debris was flowing down plus we spent most the time getinng the truck unstuck

Yeah I'm use to wheeling a 2nd gen Tacoma stick. Have since wheel this much more. Haven't got the locker in. But sticking wih the Detroit. Have to new doors all painted up, gotta wet sand and paint more but it's cold now. It was just a bad day when we flopped it, but it happens. In one of my wheeling groups I was the last to flop, and the other group from TW I was the first haha. It's going to get gone through here soon it will be a trail rig. With my daughter being born its been put on hold.

i seen more wheel spin, burnt clutch smell, and stalls with guys running single stock t case. 4.7 or dual case is a must imo to rock crawling and going slow with a stick shift. most that must have a stick shift are daily driving their rigs 99.9% of the time which is fine and a stick shift is better. the other .1% is on fireroads.

Back in my younger years I lived in the country and we'd always go out to the pipe lines and ride, usually on 4wheelers. On this occasion I was in my '95 4Runner, with no lift and street tires. Needless to say I got stuck pretty damn good. Unfortunately, none of my buddies and I were smart enough to think ahead about that because we were only in my vehicle. So we started walking towards my dad's convenient store which was about 2 or 3 miles up the road (we had no signal in the boonies). Luckily after about a mile, a friend was driving by and took us all there. I then proceeded to tell my dad, which he was furious about. We headed out there in his '98 Z71 extended cab. Nothing special about it really. He ends up getting stuck himself. At this point he is ready to ring my neck. Even more furious he is trying to get unstuck and ends up completely destroying his transmission. He kept throwing it in drive and reverse back and forth. Now one can argue that it isn't my fault his transmission blew up b/c of his lack of skills driving offroad. BUT, I guess it was my fault considering he was there because of me in the first place. Potato, Pototo 
Now, we're both stuck and my dad has to call my mother to come get me and my friends while he is gonna deal with everything. I'm skipping a few words that were in that conversation lol. After the tractor pulls both our trucks out he calls me to come get mine. When I get there his is headed off to the dealership on a tow truck. Lets just say I was grounded for a good while, and had to work off what I owed him. I wish I had pics, but maybe it's better I don't have anything to remind us of that day! :doh:

The gears are weaker when in reverse, it's just how they were designed. You always want to pull when driving forward.

This isn't recent but It's one of the only stuck stories I have a pic to go along with it. I was running errands at my grandparents farm and ran into bit of a soft patch. Did not anticipate the ground to be so soft, before I could maneuver to go around, I was stuck. Buried it pretty good too. I was picking mud out for months. I'm not a big fan of mud, this mud in particular was especially bad with it smelling like cow s***.

I wouldn't say that this was my worst stuck story but it's my first stuck story in the 4Runner.. i was going to try and go up that concrete embankment below the underpass.. but the soft mud that was before got me.. i thought by going to the left a little into the grass might have firmer mud but it wasn't enough. all 4 wheels were on top of mud and the truck wouldn't budge to atleast try and rock it out.. had friends that were riding with me for an adventure try to bounce on the rear and tug at it but nope.. so i called my friend with an F-150 with tow straps.. it was a simple pull..

it's a good thing that gas can in the rear didn't rupture! i assume that's a gas can
