Worst weekend...

Been a long time lurker even after purchasing my 4runner 2 years ago and it looks like I'll be saying goodbye :cry2:. This past Saturday I rear ended a Volvo that was stopped on a two lane road turning left. Both of us are okay which is the main thing, but the front is torn up. Not sure of extent of the damages but should hear from insurance soon with a final decision. I'm hoping, if it is totaled, that I can get back into another 4runner that being a 3rd gen or 4th gen.

One word to describe the whole situation is PAY ATTENTION!

That really sucks to hear and see. But like said before atleast your both ok. And yeah maybe you can pick another 4th gen and start fresh
 
Yup. I really worry when people follow too closely behind me. I have been rear ended three times, none very seriously. But I agree with you, slow down and pay attention. It only takes a fraction of a second to kill someone! Glad you are OK.
 
Glad you are ok. I hate seeing crunched Runners...:Cry:

How fast were you going when you hit? Looks like it took it well.
 
Glad you are okay and how the vehicle handled it. Sorry for how your vehicle turned out. Hope it is a smooth transition and you get back into the Runner game shortly.
 
Jeeze, glad to see you are ok. I hit a pedestrian overseas years ago and it sucks. I was distracted also (no texting, no phone involved). I'm willing to bet money your rig is totaled. Lots of damage and I see the front bags deployed.

Start looking for a 4th gen!!

Oh geez hitting a pedestrian is my worst fear. I go to school at UAB and people jaywalk, my self included, all the time.

I just hope I'll get a decent amount back to possibly get a 4th gen. If not, a nice 3rd gen which I originally wanted before I came across my beautiful 2004 sport edition! :Cry:
 
Looks repairable to me... glad you were okay. have a body shop check it first and decide from there. if the insurance can have it fixed, let them fix it.
