Would $1600 Clear XPEL be worth it on a black 2018 4runner?

This was about 14 1/2 years after installing X-Pel. Hood, leading front fender areas. Lower grill. I believe I did the mirrors also after I put on the painted covers.

I was in the same situation when I picked my t4r back in ‘15, I made the decision to not get a clear bra bc I knew down the line I would get an off-road bumper etc. I invested in a bug deflector for my hood though. If you plan on doing any off-roading with your rig I’m not sure how the film will hold up to tree branches and boulders that will come out of no where.

Getting a new 4Runner black and am thinking of XPEL bra. It is aprox. $1600 cash and it would do entire front bumper/rear bumper/entire hood/fender flares/mirror caps/door cups/rear door sections

Am keeping it for a LONG time if not the entire life of the vehicle

I usually just get the front of the hood done and part of the quarter panels. The plastic pieces I don't worry about. I tend not to get too attached to vehicles I drive in the winter. I also don't put plastic on my furniture, which was very popular with some of my relatives in the 70's. If it gives you peace of mind, XPEL the crap out of it...

I don’t think you can go wrong with XPEL. I had the entire front hood, bumper, headlights, and mirrors done on my Mercedes 2 years ago. It has definetly saved it from serious road debris.

Also I had the entire front bumper, headligts, and partial hood of my 4Runner done at mile 20. Can’t say enough good about it. I would recommend going to a well established installer. The XPEL material is awesome with great service from the company, but the trick is to find an experienced installer (hint they often have exotic vehicles in the garage). I was also told my 4Runner was very difficult to work on due to the curves, but it has held up fine in the 15 months I’ve had it.
