I would like some help on what to do for my 1998 limited runner. I want to go offroad alot and stock it is great but i want to keep it riding nice and be able to still be a good daily driver but have good offroad capability's. More mud and moderate articulation than major flexing.I would like to know the best way to go about a good lift with coils and all that jazz. (im fairly new to knowing about cars). Any one willing to help me out?

Welcome to T4R. !
There's plenty of help available here, and I'm going to move your post to the 3rd gen section where you'll get it.

So basically I'm hearing that you want to mud the 4Runner and have a solid daily driver correct?

I would start off by reading the link about 35's. That will be a good start for you and you can go from there. To keep flex down I would just keep the stock length shocks IF you can with 35's and also keep the sway bars on also.

After that it is all up to you.

Now this is my .02 on this. The 4Runner is not really the best rig for deep mud. By the time you throw on some 33's or 35's and hit that mud hole this truck just doesn't make allot of torque. I'm not saying that it can't do it I'm just saying that the 4Runner is better on the back woods trails and deserts I feel. Guess you are just going to have to get a supercharger for more power:jump:

If you build this for the mud I call dibs to be first to follow this build!!!!:first:

ToyTec lifts are cheap and easy to do, 3 inches can run 33's all day long that's what I have on my 98 limited. Still get a great daily drive ride but can run offroad with no problems, also I would look at locking the rear end, if your new to vehicles you may want to get some advice or help with that tho. Good luck

Now I also stay out of deep mud like noted above as well, this is just not the truck for it.

well not so much deep thick mud because what you said i just don't generate alot of torque, but more of a runner i can go anywhere. through mud, snow, sand, deep forest, over smart cars.(in some cases ;) ) i think 35's would be a good choice but i think 33's would fit me better. im only looking for a 3-4 inch lift so 33's would probably be ideal. thanks on your feedback!

hey semper so i was looking at the toytec lifts but im unsure on wether to just do the lift kit with new coils front and rear or replace my shocks too?

Only in shallow forest will you need 4" of lift :toilet:

By the way, a suspension lift won't help you clear tires since the suspension will still stuff to the bump stops when flexed.
