Would you buy this

As the screen name suggests I used to have a 2007 silver sr5 that I loved and stupidly traded it in 7 years ago to buy a 3rd mom car.

Now I have the opportunity to buy a 2004 white limited and restart a new project build. Its high miles, 318,xxx on odo. 3 previous owners with a long and detailed CarFax attached to it. Big things that have been done in the last 100,000 miles are power steering pump, water pump, transmission, timing belt, ac/heater system, plugs and wires, and o2 sensors along with on time regular maintenance.

They’re asking $8500 but I’m going in at $7000 due to the miles and the year.

Opinions welcome.

What does the frame look like?

318k miles is a lot. Price might be low but I would pay more for lower miles. Money will go into it to improve condition so at the end of the say, the total outlay will equalize but the car will still be high mileage no matter how much is fixed or replaced.

Aim lower. If you can, pay in Cash, you may get a better deal. I picked up an 03 Sport with 133k miles. The seller was asking $8,000 but I offered $6,500 Cash and left with it that day. An 07 with 300k shouldn't go for more than $5,500, IMO.

V6 or V8?
And as was mentioned earlier, how is the frame rust?

Imo, only a well cared for V8 would be worth looking at w 318k miles.

Frame rust should be of equal concern as well. Look where the A/C drain drips on the frame and where the rear LCAs connects to the frame especially. Smack around w a hammer/screwdriver under there.
