I'd get a newer fx4 f150. Love my 4runner but miss having a truck

I too miss having the size and bed of a truck but won't get rid of my 4runner for anything! If I had the extra cash, I'd get a 5.7 Tundra crew max and let the GF drive it.

Probably would get another. This is my 3rd 4runner, I've tried other makes/models in between and always end up coming back to the 4runner. The only thing I'd consider is a newer 4 door Tacoma, like you guys a bed would come in handy at times. My only deal with this, I'd probably end up with a camper shell so I can have storage space for my gear and be able to easily lock it up, right back where I started in that case.

Hellz YES!!!

This is my 3rd "runner/surf". I'm starting to like the 5th gen alot. Wasn't too wild about it when it came out, but now it's starting to grow on me. There really isn't any other SUV out there that makes me salivate (except the Sequioa, Lexus GX). I still love my 4th gen!

Absolutely. My trailer is enough bed for me. Although i will be getting a highlander to replace my solara in the next year or two once we have a kid.

if i had the money... id just get this!

Question about this..., my 4r is my first car and I love it, would deff buy another just because it has NEVER broken down and NEVER failed me.. but compared to other car companies how is the reliability/durability? Say to Landrover(after they stoped braking)BMW, Audi, Saab..? Pops told me to always drive foreign cars!

Here's my vehicle history.
4runner --> GMC --> 4runner --> Ford --> 4runner
I've grown to hate domestic vehicles, had issues with every one I've had. Family has had similar experiences. My whole family now drives Toyota. My wife had a 02 Nissan Altima, wasn't real impressed with quality/reliability with it. Can't speak for the ones you mentioned though.

Of course! Someday I'd like to get another 3rd gen to be a dedicated trail rig. I love my 4Runner and newer cars nowadays just aren't built as solid as before IMHO.

Heck yes! I do hope to drive this one till the wheels fall off, or I pass it down to my daughter when she's 16, but I will def. be getting another. I too have gone through several cars, have a Dodge (which actually ran pretty good the car model and year) and a Chevy, which was the biggest piece of crap I've ever owned, it was just pretty. And hubby had a Ford Mustang which gave us problems too. My next dream Runner is a 2009 Limited, with all leather interior with all the bells and whistles to it. I want it to be 4x4 V8 with the sparkly white paint color! Hopefully I can find one in about 15 years, haha!

i would get a 4cyl 2wd 4runner this time, 22re or 3rz, make it into a prerunner instead of a crawler this time.

You bet I'll get another. One day there'll be a 5th gen in my driveway. If I didn't need a truck so much I'd love to have a 3rd gen to go with my 4th so I could turn it to a wheeler. But at least I was fortunate enough to get a Taco to park beside the T4R, it's the next best thing for me.
It'll be a while yet but one day we'll retire the 4th gen and replace it with a 5th gen.

If I had it all to do over again, I might look at a different trim, but it would still be a 4Runner. I'd like to run this one until the wheels fall off, but at the rate I'm going that won't be for another 20 years. For all the people that "miss having a truck" why don't you just buy a trailer, so you have the best of both worlds.
Personally, I feel fortunate because my company vehicle is an F150. So, I have a truck when I "need" it but didn't have to pay for it or the gas that goes into it. Having a truck is handy for some trips to the hardware store or landscaping upgrades, but if I ever change professions and don't have the luxury of the truck I think a trailer would work just fine for my needs.

I agree with Dusty Driftwood, I too would pick a different trim but it'd for sure be a 4runner. I have always been loyal to Toyota and would probably never own another brand. I really like the gen5s but woudln't mind having a Tundra either.
Someone a few posts back said something along the lines of 'Toyota really is the only brand that makes them salivate'... I too agree!

If I could do it over again I would get a Taco. It's what I really wanted but I figured having an SUV was more practical.
