I just bought the Wab Fab links and while I probably could have made them for a lot less I know he has gone through a few variations getting it to the right material combination. There are a lot of different stress that get applied to the end links and several others have stopped making them due to breakage or bending.
One of those why try to reinvent the wheel decisions I made. But to answer your question Izzard you have the basic components right.
yeah that's cool and i'm not going to knock anyone who just want to buy the stuff and be done with it, to tell you the truth if i had the cash i would never lift wrench a again lol...
but i really think i can do better, i have access to aircraft suppliers that don't sell to the general public as well as some crazy custom stuff we use everyday here, it seems as if i get the strength properties as high as possible and make sure i get the end links with the sealed bearings and that are thrust rated it should be all good, the only thing i'm worried about right now is corrosion resistance,proper lengths and bushings....
anyone in seattle want to try some out since i'm making mine? i'll sell @ cost for the first few to see if there are any issues.
if there are i'll kick you your money back, only want to deal with local dudes i can meet,talk to, and get to know for now.
i'll have the first set done in about 2 weeks or so, still busy with real work right now lol
side note i went down to the local 4wheel drive parts store and they quoted me 188 front and 182 rear for the addco sways with a 3-4 week wait for the front as they don;t have any in stock (they called addco directly)
so if you find a front one grab it even if it's $10 more, seems like a long lead time for a piece of bent rod/round
