Wrecked my 4runner what should i do?

Ok so this telephone pole ran out infront of me and yeah i caught it with my driver side rear door and back wheel, heres a pic of the damage below. I was wanting to know what you guys thought i should do about it. Should i fix it or try to find another runner?

Its a 98 SR5 i paid 1500 for it from my dads friend had 218,000 miles on it now has 240,000 ive had it for about 8 months now. From the prices ive seen i got a hell of a good deal.

I got under it and the frame is fine but the axle is twisted. I was planning on replacing that soon anyways because of a loud humming noise coming from it. Previous owner said he had it looked at and was told it had 40k miles left on it before it needed to be replaced and well its about that time.

Let me know what you guys would do. THanks

Use the money you would spend for another 4runner on fixing it and building it. Replace the axle, find a new door and whatever else needs fixing. topdownrunner might still have his drivers side rear door he will sell you for cheap with all the electronics and panels and glass. You would just have to repaint it. Put up a wanted ad in the classifieds here.
 
I hate it when that happens, tree ran out in front of me one day in my dads car over a year ago, i am fixing the damage from it tonight.
 
Lol it sucks when it happens... alot of people have told me to just junk it because ill be paying more to fix it than what i paid for it. But i dont want to part from it. I love my 4 runner lol

You got a ****ing amazing deal. I have a '98 SR5 with 210k miles on it and it's still worth over $5k.
 
I vote for keep/fix. At the price you got it for you could spend a lot on it and still be under what it was worth.

He got a good deal, but yours isnt worth over $5k, i tried to sell my 97 with 161k at the time for $5k even, and no one emailed me at all for it. BTW i paid $1850 for mine.
 
You should be able to find an axle pretty easily and you've already seen that the door is readily available too. You're not gonna find a better deal than the one you already got, so I say fix it too...a few hundred one time dollars beats a monthly note anytime and you can do all the work yourself!

I would find someone that you can trust to tell you what is involved in fixing it before ordering anything, you may find that it is worth fixing and you may find the frame is tweaked (worst case scenario). at that point you will know what direction to take. I am all for fixing it, however the way that the sheet metal overlapped and pinched I have no idea what your getting into and you really need to pull the door open and see if the pilar is in line or also crumbled. if you are looking at building a custom off roader and cutting and banging it up then just fix what you need to drive it and go run the other side into a tree so it matches, LOL!!

Kbb values mine at 5k. I'm sure I wouldn't have that much a problem selling close to that around here
