Hi All,
Longtime lurker, firsttime poster.
I finally got the ok from the wife for a 4runner so here's what I'm lookin for:

03-05
sport or limited
preferably V8 but not a deal breaker
4wd
Sub-100k
clean title
exterior color: black, white, titanium metallic, or mica
price range is 10-13k (hopefully closer to the 10k side of things since 13k would reeeallly be stretching things)

I'm located in Tucson, Az but I'm willing to travel/ship it.

Those are the basics, any questions or input, let me know!

I found mine in the southest for 10.5. And ive posted about finding these for your price range, and all i can say is good luck. searchtempest will search all the craigslist ads for you and keep an eye on autotrader and cars. its going to take time and patience. youre also going to have to lose the "i want" list in lieu of a "itd be nice to have" and ill tell you right now at 10k, isnt going to sit a sub 100k mile t4r. fact.

the body style changed in 06 and becasue of that, youre definetly out of the price range. big on the list to check for is the 90k mile maintence. and i suggest a v6. timing chain > timing belt. but the v8 gets the same gas mileage.

just an also, and yes i know i could have edited... anyways, the 4th gens are solid and mine is so legit, but dont brashly rule out a late model 3rd gen. theres some SUPER clean ones and might satisfy your list quicker than the search for a clean 4th.

I agree with the last poster - for the sort of money you are looking to spend I think you should consider adding a later year 3rd Gen to your search - the Limiteds have all the bells and whistles and if they have had their major services completed (also check out the cats) you'd get a great truck.
 
Thanks very much for the info! i really like the body style of the 03-05, but not a big fan of the 3rd gens.
as far as the price goes, i'd like it to be closer to 10k, but I'm willing to spend up to 13k. Im hoping to keep it on the lower end of the price so i can have some extra cash on hand for some light mods and maintenance money if need be.

In regards to the "Needs" there is definitely room to change them to "would like," but i'd prefer not to settle, and I've got all the time in the world to wait it out for a good deal.

I keep lookin on here, and on autotempest every day (to the point where my wife is sick of me telling her about different trucks :wow:)

Hey! Thanks for the offer, but I'm really not looking for anything but an 03-05.
I'm still on the hunt and my spending limit is still capped at about 13k. I also have a heavily modded Ducati Monster S4 that I could add as trade plus cash....Let me know if there is any interest, or if anyone knows of something that fits my wants/needs.
 
Yea, I've been scouring ebay, even winning a couple, but unfortunately many are from dealerships who set the reserve at or above 15k......But I'll still keep an eye on them! thanks for the heads up!
