Didn't think I was going to be making this post until the end of the year, but it seems the transmission is going out on our Explorer and the repair would cost more than the vehicle is worth, so it's time to start shopping.

As of now I am looking for a very specific truck and because of that I am willing to travel almost anywhere to get it. I am in search of an 06+ 4Runner Limited 4x4 with a V6 engine. Preference goes to tan/taupe interior over the grey/stone.

If I can never find the Shadow Mica the only other color combo I'd be interested in is black exterior/taupe interior.

Ideally I would like mileage under 150,000, but definitely no more than 175,000. Looking for stock or as close to stock as possible and must be a rust free vehicle with a working 4WD system. I say I'm willing to travel almost anywhere to get it, but ideally max distance would be about 1000-1250 miles from Dallas/Ft. Worth. I've got my eye on a 2008 in Colorado within budget, but it's got grey interior (which isn't as big of a deal breaker), but also has 192,000 miles and is $2000ish above KBB value. Saw one a month or so ago in New Jersey under budget that was perfect, but didn't think I was buying at that point.

Budget is around $15,000. Willing to move up a bit for the right truck.

I have an 08 Shadow Mica SR5 (not limited) with the light gray interior.

Has under 80,000 on the clock, extended warranty, etc.

I picked it up with 35k miles from Toyota in New Jersey. If you are interested in pics just shoot me a PM.

Still looking--had one lined up to purchase, but it sold the day before I got back from vacation and I missed out on it. As of now there are only 4 that I know of in the US. Two are high mileage and listed way higher than I could ever justify paying for that mileage (in addition to being further away than I'd want to travel for something that isn't very special). The other two are also fairly far away, but newer and have low mileage so they're a bit more than I want to spend right now. If things keep up I may have to bite the bullet on one of those two.
