WTB: 2002 4Runner sport edition, in thundercloud

Hi guys, so I'm looking to get the impossible...

I want to buy a 2002 4Runner but in thundercloud grey. That was what I originally wanted and I still catch myself looking them up while I have a white 98.

I'm willing to travel, I'm not looking for much. Just something with less then 175k miles. Yes I know I have to check CL and all those other sites but every time I run up to one it gets sold or has a huge dent on the door. Or even worse, the rust in the under carriage is ridiculous and the seller thinks it can just be brushed off.

Hey man, i was in your boat last year. My must haves were 02 thundercloud sport, low miles, clean title, rust free, well maintained with records. Nice to have was 4wd since i have my 4x4 5th gen already. I found that perfect one but 2wd. Price was right and i paid full asking.

I found another copy of this with even lower miles at 115k. Looks to be super clean. But this is also 2wd. If youre interested, its in the SF bay area east bay craigslist section. Good luck with the search!
 
Are you stuck solely on the Sport model or just the hood scoop and grill? I have a 2001 Limited thundercloud 4x4 with the center transfer case lock but just a smooth hood. Not saying I'd sell mine but looking for a 2001-2002 thundercloud may give you more 4x4 options. Bad part is finding a good condition thundercloud sport hood to swap onto my limited since they were only produced that one year.

Yeah I wouldn't mind a limited edition... I basically love the thundercloud color, I'd probably add the sport hood if I got the limited edition

If you change your mind on selling yours let me know

Hey OP and others looking for something similar. I've been in the market for a good example of a 2001-2002 4x4 and came across this CL post. I checked the ute out today and it's nothing to write home about. Passenger side scraped a wall or something, check engine light, pulls to the left at speed. It definitely needs some TLC. All in all, it's fine but not at the asking price and I think the sellers could be a little more forthcoming w/r/t condition.

Keep trying to find it on AutoTempest to cross-post and can't. Worth a look. If you're interested I can stop by later this weekend and get info.

That would be great, if you could get me the name of the dealer I'll look them up and start to contact them
