WTB: 2006-2009 4runner v8 4WD

I'm looking for what seems to be an impossible find! I want a 2006-2009 4runner V8 4WD, not really picky about the trim model/color. How long have you been looking?? If that's your only criteria you shouldn't have a whole lot of trouble, there are quite a few out there. I am looking for the same thing but limited with the nav/camera. I've seen plenty that are the sr5 or they have cloth seats, etc. so I pass on them. My main issue that I have found is they look perfect.... until you look underneath... and it's all covered in rust.... :crybaby::crybaby::crybaby::crybaby: I looked for my first one for about 5 months and I am still looking for a replacement and it's been 6 months already with no luck yet. hwell: I wish you luck.

Just started looking recently. I had a 2008 v8 4wd SR5 a few years back that was mint with 87k on it and I unfortunately let it go because I wanted to downsize..then a baby came along and now I need another SUV lol Ive had a 3rd gen and the 5th gen just doesnt do it for me, something about the 4th gen facelift model with the v8 does it for me. Ive found a few as well, ALL RUSTED UP. I dont get why people dont take care of their stuff. Thank you though, I hope to find one soon but we will see, I didn't know they were this rare or I would have never gotten rid of it.

So I found an 07 sport with v8, I was wondering what you guys would consider this as? (Is this enough rust that I should stay away or is it typical for Virginia vehicle? Single owner.) Im not afraid of a little work but if its something thats going to rot through I'd rather continue to look.

I don't know if you guys look at 03/04. Didn't consider selling it. But it's a shame looking at it everyday in the garage.

For me, it kind of depends on the price, I just almost had one shipped on saturday; 06, 1 owner, 102k, fully loaded, everything I wanted and then it looked about like that. It was at carmax and their 'no haggle' bs price was $17k and I said hell no. It pisses me off because it's the second time it's happened exactly like that with them. And everyone always has the excuse "well it was an up north vehicle" or this last guy said "well... it IS an 06..." Mine was an 06 and didn't have a spot of rust on it and I have/had much older vehicles which also have 0 rust. It's lack of care/knowledge.

For me, I know there are ones just as nice with no rust and I have the patience so I keep looking. If the one from saturday had no rust I would have gladly ran in that showroom and thrown the $17k at them though :biggrin1:

I don't know if you guys look at 03/04. Didn't consider selling it. But it's a shame looking at it everyday in the garage.

Syntentic oil changes its whole life
Bilstein FJ trail team suspension
BFGs with pro comp wheels
Otherwise stock
good but not great shape
Rust free, has been in Las Vegas (where I got it from) and socal its whole life.

I need 12,500 firm. Clean title. Ive put 22K miles on it in little over a year and it has no problems. Selling to buy a 5th gen.

Although not a v8 the v6 is great and this seems like a pretty reasonable deal.

Hard to Find in FL

For what it's worth, I feel your pain. My wife and I spent 9 months hunting for our '05 SR5 V6 4X4. We had two requirements: 1) must be 4X4 and 2) no gold.

We're in Orlando and drove to Sarasota and paid almost asking price for it.

We were so thrilled to have it that when the check engine light lit up on the drive home from buying it, we dealt with it. We got home, plugged it in to my scanner, and saw it was a p0420 - bad cat. Small price to pay.

Hang in there. You'll find one.

Same...spent 9 months looking for a reasonable priced clean one. Ended up driving a state away saving $2,000. I gave up on finding the unicorn with the 3rd row after all that time.

I'd say that looks pretty good. My truck looks the same, it's an '07 and has been on the east coast it's whole life. Through all the winters, I'd say it looks damn good for being a 10 year old truck. The spots I'd worry about are the insides of the frame rails and the body mounts. If you're looking for no rust, you need to go to southern states to find a truck because any vehicle that has spent time anywhere outside of the south and has been through any winters will have rust. That's just how it is, how much however can vary greatly

Update!!!!!!!!

First of all, thank you to everyone for your help and encouragement. I did not think I would find exactly what I was looking for, especially this quick! However, the search is over.......

Found a 2007 4runner Sport Edition 4WD V8 with only 137k miles on it, black with JBL audio, ONE owner, owned in California with ZERO, I repeat, ZERO rust on it. It is a cream puff for sure, timing belt already done at 90k, brand new Michelin tires, brakes replaced as well. I am so happy I didn't settle, there are clean ones out there guys so be patient and you will find what you're looking for!

I have a 2008 galactic gray ltd V8 4wd that Is loaded .It has all options including nav /camera and 122k highway miles . Someguy offered me $25k for it last year but I was not ready to sell .It has zero rust and has XRES and the air ride suspension and 65k michelins 10k ago . I am Looking for a low mileage first gen V8 204-2006 4wd Tundra to replace it. Meanwhile if you guys think this is a price you can live with let me know and I'll post some pics .I live in Asheville NC and if you want to PM me that is also OK ....It is my baby and I will sell when I find the tundra baby which I am close to. I could keep both but would like to sell the runner to someone who would appreciate it and look after it. Recent work is timing and water pump at 90k .new AC compressor at 110k and new tires . Drivers side CV axle and boots just cause the boot wa leaking ....Its impossible just to replace the boot or clip! All work done at Toyota dealer or my local Toyota specialist mechanic here in NC. it's lived in Memphis TN and Asheville NC for the last year been garaged and never been up north on salt.

Than why did it take you 5 months. Contradictory statement as low Mile / clean rust free V8 in later years is almost impossible to find for sale. Add on 4x4 and your taking unicorn

Mines for sale.

I searched every day for three months to find a 4Runner with the following package:

2008 4Runner Sport Edition with Galactic Grey Paint V8, 4 WD with running boards, sunroof and roof rack, towing package-ALL FACTORY.

Toyota stopped making the V8 4Runner in 2009 but there are very few so this is the lowest mile sport edition V8 4WD vehicle for sale in this condition anywhere.
