Hey everybody, i'm back in the market for another 3rd gen. I've been looking in the classifieds for awhile and figured i would start a thread. Heres a list or "criteria" im interested in.

1. 3rd gen
2. less than 150,000 miles but this has lean way
3. 4x4, e locker locker isnt that important to me i wont be wheeling till after college anyway
4. heres the killer, less that 6000 bucks
5. I live in Virginia so east coast is preffered
6. im not afraid of a little work to get the truck in top shape

Thanks anyone who posts a reply and i hate for this thread to sound like an audition for your truck. I figured i'd rather buy from here then any where else because you guys all show a love for your trucks. Also if you stumble upon anything outside the forum feel free to post a link. I'm everyday scouring online for trucks but i may miss something or not know about other sources.

East coast? i'd get on Craigslist and search the Atlanta page for 4runners. plenty of 4wd 4runners under 6k. you probally wont find a 2002, 01, or 00' tho..most are gunna be 96'-98' around that price..but then again you could search for 8k car and hopefully they knock off 2k

example: this one is listed as 7.5k. 4wd and even has a 3'' lift on it with BFGs for ya..ask 6.5k

Your guys are awsome! I haven't had time to really look back at this thread till now and i appreciate all the responses. Im going to drive this weekend in Leesburg va hopefully thats the one.

And the mention of not finding an 00 and up thats not what im really looking for. I like the 98 front bumper, after 99 its too fat. Its what i had before and im not a big fan of it.

I too am in the market for a 3rd gen. Would you really offer 6.5 on something they're asking 7.5 for?

Howdy all
I to am looking for a 3rd generation 4runner. Prefer western states as I'm living in Northern California. Looking for a built or semi built 4runner with a rear locker.
Have cash, a brush with cancer has put a lot of things in perspective, so I don't want to wait anymore.
