The paint is shot on my hood. Just seeing if there's anyone out there with a good condition 3rd gen hood w/ the scoop. I like the way they look. I'll get it wrapped if it's not the right color. Located in San Jose, CA. Thanks.

I bought a new after market hood with cut out, $100, Scoop from Toyota, $150 & had a local guy paint it, $400. It looks mint! :yo: I've wanted one for 13 years & did it 2 years ago. Love it!

When you got the scoop insert from Toyota it was just one piece right? How did you attach yours to the hood? I might just go that route.

I'm curious about this too. I have a Sport hood, but might need one on my next Runner. How much is a new one from Toyota, with the scoop? I'll call my bodyshop too, and report back.

When I called the parts line at toyota for the hood insert, the guy told me they never made them for the 1997. I explained that I wanted to get a hood with the cutout for the insert he laughed and said you know the scoop isn't even functional.. yes, I know. Very akward conversation, maybe next time I'll just go straight to the part numbers.

Got the hood from the guy in San Jose, and the insert kit from that ebay link provided by scramble.

All I have to do is rivet the mesh insert in after school today.
(Didnt have a rivet gun on me yesterday)
I painted the hood and Insert with some rattle-can engine enamel low gloss black for now.

Everything was a perfect fit, matched up the first time. Very happy overall, always wanted the sport hood. thanks again guys.
