WTB: 3rd Generation 4Runner

Looking to buy a nice (inside and out), mechanically sound, decent mileage 96-02 4Runner to replace my 98 that was totalled. This will be a daily driver so need it to be in good shape. Only requirement is automatic. I'm located in Maryland.

Have you checked on CL in surrounding states? I've seen quite a few on DE's craigslist.

Not sure what part of MD you're in, but I came across This T4R in Magnolia, DE (which is located to south of Dover, DE in central part of the state). I know you specified >96, but this looks like a clean truck from what I can see.

I haven't seen this truck in person, but i'm gonna do a drive around this weekend to see if I can find it. Magnolia isn't very big, and its only about 10 minutes away from my house.

Thanks. Yea I check CL daily. I THINK you might be maybe 4-5hrs. I know sometimes the ones on here are more maintained than some of the ones on CL, etc. so was hoping to catch one at the right time.

Looking to purchase soon so we will see. Trying hard to resist a restored FJ40 instead, so better find the 4R before temptation wins! lol

They're usually not to bad unless the PO completely neglected or abused it. If its used for surf fishing it could take some abuse simply from being on the beaches often, but even then it can be prevented with normal care and upkeep. Otherwise you're only dealing with salt during the winter months, and obviously we have more winters with little to no snow -vs- what we had last year. If the PO did simple upkeep, pressure washing the underbody every couple of weeks or so during the winter months, then it should be a fairly clean vehicle.

I'm pretty sure its a limited, not an sr5, and not sure what the "new" motor comment is all about, but figured i'd pass the link on.

i have a 97 4runner limited.has new motor,new radiator,new brakes,new plugs,wires.white with tan leather int.drive it everyday.2wd model.a/c,cd player sun roof,power everything.will take 5500 for mine.need to put wife in something better suited for mail route.can send you pics if interested.
