WTB: 4th Gen 4Runner with less than 70k milew

Is this a good buy?

2009 T4R Urban Runner with 54k miles for $26k from a dealer? I know it's a rare vehicle but that still seems so high when for a couple grand more I'm in a 2014.

Blue Book is closer to $20k depending on options. If you're financing it, be aware you may have to pay a higher loan rate because the vehicle is more than 110% of market value (banks and credit unions often do this). Maybe you have the cash in which case financing is not a concern.

Is it worth it? That's up to you and your pocketbook. With tax, title, and licensing (depending on where you are) you may need another $1k-$2k on top of the asking price before you're clear and on the road. I always ask myself if the total cost will eat into my mod money reserve (i.e. lift, wheels, tires, etc).

Right, that was my thought as well. If it sits til the end of the month I'll go into the dealership and offer 21k. Doubt they'll take it, but whatever. Ha

I rather have a car with 130k miles than one with 70k miles at this point. cars that are sit are worse than cars with high milage. Especially in rust states. they might be also neglected keepp your eyes open.

I bought it as a toy. Drove it on weekends for fun, and soon ran out of time to take it out as often as I would like. I do make it a point to take it out monthly and actually look forward to it.

I planned on it becoming my daily driver some day, but I have other vehicles that would get drafted for DD status first.

It has been pampered and kept immaculate. Garaged, no snow/salt. Frame has been hand-brushed with Fluid Film. I use Collinite 476 applied with a PC7424 buffer. To keep fuel fresh, I maintain tank at 1/4 level and get 2 gallons of gas at a time. A 1/2 does of Stabil is added before winter hibernation.

If anyone has ever wished they could go back in time and buy an almost new V8 4Runner, here's your chance!

I'm in Colorado and willing to travel. I prefer 4WD and don't care which trim.

I think if Toyota offered a different color of red they'd have more sales of the color. No offense to anyone who has a current red 4th Gen... To each their own.

If it was a V6 I would have got it and sold mine. Its long gone, someone got a deal.
