WTB STEREO CD PLAYER FOR 3RD GEN. what you got?

My stock stereo is on the fritz and I would like to replace it. Looking for a cheap replacement that will play cd's and or has a plug and play for my mp3 player (aux input) would like to upgrade it but would consider a stock stereo if it is 100% functional. Let me know what you have and price, thanks Tman

Hmm....I have a Sony double din in my 4Runner right now....I might consider selling it. I bought it new and installed it myself. Would be only the head unit and the plug out of the unit. And remote. Look in my signature for Model and PM me if you are interested...just a feeler for now.

I replaced the stock stereo from my 3rd gen with the same one as piperoo, and went ahead and replaced the speakers at the same time. It has the rear aux plug for MP3 that was run into the glove box. It works great for a good price.

I might still have my 3rd gen stock stereo out of my 97' in a box somewhere. If you want it, heck I have the 4th gen stereo too now.

Thanks for the responses however I think I will go with stock stereo for now if I can find one due to economic reasons although some of the ones suggested do look nice. Let me know if anybody has one you don't want. Thanks Tman

Check out my sticky in the Audio & Electronics section. You can get Scion factory stereos off of ebay for dirt, and they're mostly plug-n-play. There is also another sticky in there detailing the different Scion h/u's.

Did you go look at that thread I posted??? You can get factory Scion head units that can be fully plug-n-play (some don't physically fit w/o a little work) for around $35, and the sound quality and feature set is FAR better than any factory 3rd gen head unit...
