Wtf..Why so much lift?

SO I just installed LC Coils

Double Pink Grey White 7.5 wraps
Orange Orange White 7.75 wraps

Tundra TRD Front strut/coils

Yellow/Yellow and Yellow/Blue Coils.

Before measurements Fronts=35.5" All around.

After measurements- Front=37.5" Rear 40.5" WTF? why so much lift in the rear? Only thing I can think of that might cause the rear to be lifted 5" is the Tundra rear shocks I am using. Anyone have any ideas why the rear got so much lift?

The only thing I can think of, would be the Tundra Shocks in the back maybe not letting the springs carry the weights....but either way....I like the stance you have! :guitar2:

Its because the landcruisers are alot heavier than our 4runners if your lc coils are lightly used they will be seriously stiff, give it a few weeks and they should settle down, mine did i had around 6" of rear lift with my 8 wraps, and now im down to about 4-4.5"

LOL..It doesn't look that bad in the picture. The rake is massive in person. I do like raked stance, But the 3" rake is too much. I think it's the Tundra shocks too. Any recommendation on shocks for the 7.5 wraps?

Shocks aren't going to effect lift, sorry guys. Those LC coils are good for 4-5 inches of lift, I think you're right where you should be. Check to make sure springs are seated properly, that could effect height if they're not. Also, are they brand new? If so, they will settle a bit.

They are used and I double checked to make sure it's seated properly. I did leave the rubber cone in though. But still even with the rubber cone it shouldn't be that much lift lol..Hopefully it will settle down about 2" or so..

yup that does look about right with those LC coils, about how mine looked once i did it, I also hated how mine looked in person, but yours looks great!! I really like the look

Shocks / struts have absolutely zero effect on ride height. They only dampen the ride. So, get new rear coils or add a ton of weight to the rear. FWIW, it doesnt look that bad.

give it a couple weeks. same thing happened to me..you might settle 1.5 inch depending on the usage of the coils. the stance is nice tho with rake IMO

So I'm about to put my LC coils in and an wondering.... What's the advantages and disadvantages of removing or leaving the rubber cones?

I would assume taking them out nets less lift (although, how much I wasn't certain), but is there any bad effects of taking them out? I'm guessing they would stop me from bottoming out, but if I really going to be 90% of my driving on highways and back streets do I need them? What about when I start pulling my pop-up? Thanks all!

OP: Did you use a top plate spacer in the front. I have read using between a 3/8"-1/2" spacer helps level things out.

Also, what size tires are in the picture. I am collecting parts now for the same lift and am tossing around the idea of going ahead with the lift install before I purchase new tires.

I had pretty much the exact same setup as the OP and the rake was very noticeable. I put in my 5100's yesterday reusing the Tundra springs and it's nice and level now. I'd recommend the 5100's over used Tundra struts for a more even lift, improved rebound damping, and overall improved ride quality.

Highly doubt you're gonna settle 2 inches in the rear. My lift took me from 34 to just about 39 and then 40 with tires (been 3 months at this height). I have one 8 wrap driver side and one 7.75 or 7.5 (not sure which) passenger. Sounds like you were expecting the lift from a 7 wrap but you basically have 8wraps, 7.75. You really have to lift the front more than just a tundra coil if you want to have a reasonable rake. Either a top plate spacer or adjustable bilstein's.

vie never measured mine. i think the rake from the LC's bothered me for about the first day, then i got over it. put bigger tires on it and forget about it. they ride like a dream, flex like a dream. who cares what it looks like. it will allow you to actually take gear without sacrificing the sag in the rear.

o an i have bilsteins all the way around.

Go look under your truck to the outer side of your rear springs, there is a set of bumpstops there already.
