Ok, I've read some around here about how you should disassemble it if you are removing it....my question is why?

If it's a closed loop system then I do not have to worry about it leaking and effecting other systems.

Can't I either just leave it alone(ziptie the cord) or just plug it?

I don't have the system, but my understanding is that if you don't remove the system it will throw an error code to the computer. I could be wrong and I'm sure someone who knows more will chime in soon.

Yeah, and that would be understandable but I figured you should just be able to disconnect a sensor or cut a cord.

I'm being a little lazy BUT i've had some major issues with my lift install and just want it over with already. I had to cut my end links off and a bolt sheared off and I'm having to try to either drill it out more or use one of those reverse drill bits to get it out.

Just tired.

Did you install a lift and keep your XREAS/stock shocks?

XREAS is a closed system in the sense that fluid can not be added. There are disconnect points about a foot away from the shocks that have valves built in, so if you disconnect there no fluid is lost. This is where I disconnected mine to prevent from making a mess, I just left the rest of the lines in place.

XREAS is NOT tied to the electronics in any way. Removing XREAS does not throw any codes or anything.

You can remove everything but it's not necessary. I just pulled the shocks, replaced them with 5100s and zip tied everything up. I'll eventually remove everything, but it is not high on the to-do list. No error codes, there's no electronic link to XREAS.

Ok, that is what i figured but I didn't know enough. I hadn't seen a sensor at any point yet so I wasn't completely sure.

I will probably just disconnect it but leave it attached(other than shocks). I figured that I could try to save it but I just opted for new shocks.

Correct! No electronic sensors for xreas. Just remove at the connectors. It doesnt leak out from the tubing. Only from the shock the oil leaks out

Yep, did mine this weekend and just unhooked all the shocks, zip tied the lines up to the frame, cleaned up the lost fluid with oil-dry, and am now enjoying REAL shocks that are easily replaceable from now on.

you guys should quit being lazy and just remove all the lines lol its not hard I just broke all the clips off the frame that hold the tubing.

You really don't need to through. Just disconnect at the check valves and leave everything else. No oil whatsoever at that point.

well it would have been in the way when i welded sliders on to the frame in my case.

its additional weight on the vehicle (kinda negligible but still)

It's kinda like wiring lights or electrical equipment into your car and not zip tieing the wires into place its just kinda half ass if you ask me personally.

whats the point in leaving it on there? you can't reuse it once you disconnect the shocks.
