X-Runner

Finally seen an X-Runner (Red) yesterday at a local stealer. It's really sporty looking, and low to the ground. The only problem is that it looks like Toyota doesn't put any options in them. It had a 23K MSRP. It had about $300 worth of options. Too bad the TRD supercharger is not available, because if it was, I would have upgraded my blown PreRunner.

This may sound stupid, but what is the X-Runner and PreRunner. I have never seen either of them or know the difference. Just curious.

The Pre-runner is a high sitting 4x4 looking Tacoma that is 2wd, not 4x4 (just looks like the 4x4 style) and has a locking rear-diff. It differs from Toyotas standard, low sitting 2wd Tacoma trucks in that way (and is beefer all the way around).
The X-runner is a their new, sport truck. It sits low, has a lot of body cladding, real quick, pulls g-s like a 350z .90 or something and handles great. They are two totally different animals.

Yes the X-Runner also comes with a 6 speed manual transmission. I'd love that for my 4runner!

Supposedly it will also have a supercharger option at one point, but who knows.

The PreRunner is basically a 4X4 Tacoma without 4wd, if that makes any sense. Some stock features on mine are; 31

I just saw a black one sitting out front of my dealer the other day. Pretty sporty looking in person but I've never been a big fan of lowered trucks.

I don't know where they got their numbers but the X-Runner does NOT cost $33K.

Ummm, it's Canadian Driver so I think that is Canadian dollars.

Still have it, runs great! I'll be looking at the new Tundra real close to maybe replace it. The only problem is Kawasaki just came out with the BADEST motorcycle on the planet.
