XD LED Low beams came in today

Do you mind me asking where you got them from?

I've yet to find a company selling 55W HID kits that use true 55W bulbs. Please keep in mind that 55W bulbs are visually different from 35W.

I have the XD kits

I have had the XD HID kits on my BMW motorcycles to GX, to 4Runners and they all have out performed my expectations. The LED in the fog lights are amazing and I run the LED for my DRL and Brights with good results. I have the 5k HID 35watt in my low beams. Lighting is perfect so far. I have yet to see a failure using the XD branded hardware in 7 years of use.
 
Thinking of getting the H11 kit to replace my low beams on my 2014 Limited. Just to clarify, based on this thread, we just "cram" the flexible heat sink into the projector housing, and all should be well? With the dust and crud on Oklahoma roads, I want to be able to replace the dust covers if I put these in. Maybe Steve at XenonDepot can weigh in?

Anyone have any pictures, or experience now that you've pushed the heat sinks in?

Not to bad mouth the LED, but if you're looking for crisp color, already have the projector housing in your 5th gen. I'd suggest personally the HID. The 35W kit is the same price as the 50W kit. The only thing you have to factor is a 1000 kelvin drop in the 50W system. So 6500 becomes 5500. Mine is so bright I can see the future, with good cutoff not to blind anyone. Just my .02. Not trying to steer anyone away from LED, but having seen both, I personally think HID is the way to go unless you are wanting to do LED all the way around.

OP you're LEDs look good, I'm interested in hearing how your fogs do in the dust and dirt. I need to upgrade my fogs and see a lot of fire break roads, etc.

Is your driveway really elevated? If not it looks to me like your definitely blinding oncoming traffic with that setup. I have a few retrofits under my belt and none have I setup anywhere close to that high versus the ground.
 
Projectors are in 2014, 2015, and probably 2016, right?

And the picture in Paragon1 avatar is his old 2010 Trail, and he has a 2015 Trail now?

Yeah, its about 6 ft higher where the garage opens, than where you pull into the street.
 
Does anyone have any updates on the H11 headlight kit? Are you all still liking the kit and is it still working well? I am considering going this route as well as the LED fogs. I would appreciate any updated information. Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply. I don't have hardly any expertise with automotive lighting. I have looked through the lighting info thread on here. From what I could gather all of the HID kits require modifications. Would the LED's be the best route to go without modifying anything?
I would like to have HID's but it seems like it requires more modifying than I would like.

I've been extremely happy with mine. Just keep in mind if you have any sort of lift you have to realign the lights or else you're gonna severely piss off anyone in front of you.

My Low beam, High/DRL and fog lights, all LEDs should arrive next week from XD. I will report back after installation. Meanwhile, will try to get some before shots...then will take some after shots.

Thanks. I have decided for sure to get the Philips LED fog lights in the 2700k selective yellow color but I'm still not sure on the LED low beams yet. I ordered a set of Philips xtreme vision +100 halogens in the meantime for my low beams. They only set me back $35 so we'll see. I'm looking forward to seeing your before and after pictures!
 
2 week bump. How are guys liking the LED low beams. Still deciding between that and HIDS. Yellow LED fogs are on the way.

since you're running a '16 that has projector housings I'd strongly recommend you use HID bulbs instead. I tried both and came to the conclusion that the LED's are more tailored to a standard headlight housing since there's an LED element on each side of the "stick" for the bulb. Due to that, the projector beam loses a significant amount of light since one of the elements points to the back of the housing.
