Hi Everyone,

Steve is at the SEMA show for the remainder of the week. My name is Mike and I can definitely do my best to help answer your questions.

mr.spohn - I will have to confirm regarding the 6054 sealed beams and the off-road lights. Off the top of my head I am not 100% sure.

plazma - Your vehicle uses a 9003/HB2 which is a dual filament bulb (same bulb for low beam and high beam). If you want to upgrade to HID you will need to pick up an H4 HID Conversion kit. The H4 HID Conversion Kit is available in Low Beam and Bi-Xenon.

You can do one of two things -

1) Pick up an aftermarket set of 6054 headlights that take an H4 bulb and convert them to HID with an H4 HID conversion kit.

2) Get a set of 6054 Bi-Xenon headlights. This will be more money buy you will be getting a DOT certified Bi-Xenon set up that uses OEM Philips components.

Regarding the Off Road lights - you should be able to convert those to HID. If the set up takes H3 bulbs you will need to get an H3 HID conversion kit.

Hey Steve,
I've read this thread and may have missed my answer so I'm posting to you. Im interested in an HID conversion for a 2009 SR5 4Runner and a 1997 SR5 4Runner.
I know for the 97 I need the H4 conversion but would still like to utilize both my high and low beams, this calls for the bi-xenon package, correct? Is there anything else needed in order to install this kit fully, a harness or anything not included?
Second, for the 09, I would also still like to upgrade both the high and low beams which means starting with the preferred H11 4300k Xtreme Philips Xenon HID Conversion Kit but am wondering to also factor in the high beams (9005's) do I need an entire HID conversion kit in addition, or just some 9005 bulbs I can power off the low beam ballasts? Thanks in advance. Looking forward to purchasing.

Thank you for contacting me.

As per your questions:

1) 97 4Runner: You would need to get a bi-xenon HID conversion kit if you wanted to retain both your low and high beam functionality. Our Bi-xenon HID kits are specifically designed for vehicles that use positive switching so it is important to determine whether your vehicle is negative switched or positive switched. I can assist you with determining that if you so require.

2) 2009 4Runner: You would need to get an H11 HID kit as you already know to upgrade the low beams on this vehicle. Upgrading your high beams to HID would require you to purchase a second HID kit however I would not advise upgrading your high beams to HID for a couple of reasons:

- HID bulbs take a moment to fully ignite and reach their desired light output. In situations where you need to flash someone and require a quick burst of light your HID high beams will not be very functional.

- It is strenuous on the components to be turned on/off repeatedly ie: flashing people.

I am glad to hear that you are happy with the HID conversion kit that we sell I would suggest getting a 4300k HID kit for your fogs. Your vehicle uses a 9006 bulb meaning that you would need to get a 9006 HID kit.

Check out the ALL NEW High Power 194 LED bulb installed in an IS35) Parking Lights:

I am not surprised to hear/see how bright these Automotive LED bulbs are. Putco uses high power Nichia LED diodes for this 194 LED bulb and the bulbs are assembled right in the USA! Putco rates these bulbs to be 18X brighter than your stock 194 bulbs.

brycejaq - We only sell a bi-xenon HID kit on our website. This kit will offer both low and high beam HID. Some people selling high/low HID kits use a separate halogen bulb for the high beams which cannot be replaced if it burns out.
