XM Radio, Garmin 2730 & stock radio

This is my predicament with my stock radio. I have a Garmin Street Pilot 2730 that has XM Radio. I can't use the FM frequencies because there are too many stations in my area and the reception is very poor so I bought a casette adapter from Sony and plugged it to my Garmin's line out jack. That's how I use my Satellite Radio. Does the stock radio have RCA aux. jacks in the back so I can plug my Garmin or is there another way I can use my XM radio???I love my satellite radio but so many wires hanging out doesn't look good and I know the sound will be better if the line out is plugged to the back of the radio.:awais:

I see you are using the Garmin Street Pilot 2730 to listen to XM radio, I dont think the adapter I used will work for that. Sorry.

try looking into a peripheral peice called TIPIL... my book says it works for all models 98-03 and it gives you an AUX audio input. MSRP is $149.95. Another company called Precision interface electronics makes a piece with part number TOY-AUX for 98-04 and says it works with toyotas with 12-pin DATA port at radio. They also have a TOY03-AUX for 02-05 with mini data port at radio. I'm not sure of MSRP though, but their website is http://www.pie.net.

Nope... Don't know about the upgraded JBL factory systems though. Mine is just the standard Toyota head unit with 6 speakers. New models '06 and up have an input plug on the face of the radio that could be used.

To my knowledge, the 2003-2005 models do not have RCA jacks (including JBL).

I use a PIE adapter to get audio through my headunit. It fools the head unit into thinking there is an external CD Player for audio input. It works great for my Garmin Nuvi, IPOD when I had it, and portable DVD player.

no the toyota factory radio does not have RCA jacks on the back....

I believe the only way to have RCA inputs is with the RSES (rear DVD player), the RCA jacks are located inside the center console. The '06 has a mini-plug in the center console.
