Xreas change out 2012 58,000 miles

Leakage found on suspension. Mechanic recommends replacement.
I want a nice soft ride. Tired of the rigid bumps. ( probably 20 inch wheels partly to blame)....
Anyway what is the difference in Oem parts only to change from xreas to regular shocks like kyb?

Replacing Xreas is not cheap and it needs to be done at the dealership.
You can get something more high end like Kings with that amount of money.
You said you want soft ride,King and Xreas is what I can think of that meets your needs.

The 20” wheels make it more harsh than xreas. I pulled mine out at 27k, it was a great decision for me. Replaced wheels and tires before that.

If you have to pay out of pocket do not get xreas again...
 
How would you necessarily know if the XREAS shock is busted? Had my ‘16 Ltd. up on a the rack at NTB and the mech noticed the passenger shock was wet with oil - assuming the shock is broken, but not really sure how to confirm.

They quoted $1,400 to fix, which seems lower than what I’ve been reading on the forum, if the only solution is to replace altogether...

Want to put BFG KO2s on (275 55 20) on the stock wheel, so want to fix concurrent with the tire upgrade, if necessary.

Both of my front shocks have oil on the shock body. Lifting up the rubber covers at top of shocks shows the shaft seals are leaking oil. Will only get worse and oil will continue to leak out and reducing the performance of the shock. Can’t just replace one shock due to the sealed hydraulic connections to other shock.

The quoted cost may be replacing only 1 system since only one shock is leaking. Technically all 4 shocks make up two separate hydraulic systems with 2 shocks each.
