Ya halos should be hooked up to the corner lights... ya i think the shrouds look funny on the 4runner unless they are the gatlin gun one but ill just have to get used to it. Kool dude D2S is gonna be nice!

Ok kool, umm my plans were to use some brackets i had laying around from our liquor store cameras which are pretty sturdy but somehow were missing a small part so looks like i may be going to home depot to find a different/better solution.

The problem is going to be that the factory rails don't go that far forward so bracketing means you will have to drill into your roof, don't they make control towers that fit in the grooves near the door seals? If your installing limb risers maybe you could weld some tubing on the front, wrap the bottom in padding, then use the limb risers to tie it down? Just thinking out loud...I just wouldn't feel safe with gear in that basket w/o supporting it better.

Well ive been looking at making some brackets that will adhesive to the roof of the 4runner and drilled into the 4runner like the Gobi stealth...

So finally decided to do a small mod to the 4runner tonight, cut a small piece of colored plexiglass i use for my architectural models and added it between the tinted plastic and the clock...

you know you gobi ladder.
did you have to drill into your hatch? or any body of the 4runner? or is it just "sorta" clipped on then the ladder bolts on to that?

Well the mounts for the Gobi dont need to be drilled, the mounts come with screws that need to be tightened onto the hatch and then the ladder is attached to those two mounting brackets.

x2 on the look, btw anyone knows how to add angel eyes to the projectors, the look of red devil eyes turning on at night seem pretty cool:bat: kinda ricerish but still cool if it can be done easily and cheap

yeah that would be kinda cool. I think a black housing with the red halos would be SICK! Would you get pulled over for doing something like that though?
but yeah the ones he ordered have the Halo. There are a couple companies that make these but i think the G3 (like he has) is probably the best as far as quality?

The G3's are good quality. One of my halo's burnt out but I don't really think it had anything to do with the quality, its just how cold cathodes can be. But generally the halos are supposed to last like 10000 hours or something like that.

But as far as these 'easy' DIY retrofit projectors go, I think the best would be the Morimoto Mini's. They are more reputable and a name brand. They come using either H1 bulbs or the more standard d2s bulbs. They also have a better stock cutoff than the G3 (my cutoffs were modded) and they come with the gatling shrouds. Also they are the same price or cheaper than the G3's. I am thinking about putting these in my rsx.

Sorry to thread jack.

Well finally on spring break and didnt have to work today so i thought id do a little something since i have a couple items sitting in my room...

Im very glad with the outcome and it took me about 3-4 hours from tear down and back on to the 4runner... so i found that i put the oven at 335 degrees for 12 minutes and the glass just pulled apart smoothly and in one try.
