Well pretty stoked since ive only been working on the maxima but tom i will be getting the body lift finally installed... ive been anticipating this moment for about a month or two now and im siked to get it on and should be getting the rock sliders and the ARB re-welded within the next month.

Ok so thnx to the help of Mauzer, we got the body lift done in 4 hours with two small problems along the way and taking a few beer breaks...

What problems did you guys encounter during the install? and what's your ground to fender measurement this time?.......Looking good...well aside from the bumper gap I see for now..:banana:

Havent gotten a chance to measure anything yet since we didnt get done til 10pm and it was dark... but ya bumper gap is killing me but hopefully ill have time soon to get that fixed and all the other welding things i need done too... Well two probs we ran into were:

1) We dropped a radiator bolt in a C-channel in the front of the 4runner frame and couldnt get it out so used a diff bolt after spending a good 20 min trying to get it out but wit no such luck.

2) Was sitting there tightening the bottom driver's drop bracket for the radiator and bolt wasnt even touching anything but the air and was 1/2 way through the bolt without any stress, the weld on the bracket broke leaving me with only 3 functional drop brackets so i will be emailing 4crawler later today about that.

I didn't even drop the radiator when I did my 2" bl. I checked all the hoses and lines and looked like there was still play in most of them. I heard it's somewhat of a pita anyways, so I said eff it. We've already had some really hot days down here in AR with no change of my average temp readings. Idling for 20+ min stays at normal temps as well.

As for the bumper gap, now you know how I felt haha.. I can't believe I waited almost 3 months to fix it!! Everything looks great. Say goodbye to your engine bay gap covers. They all stretched too far and came off. I just got some heavy duty rubber and cut out the shapes and that fixed it well.

Not perfect but it does the job

Lol ya im hoping to get the bumper moved up soon tho it might be a while depending on when some welding friends have free time... But the reason we did the radiator drop was bc the fan was rubbing bad on the bottom and there was no way around it. As for the front gap covers, we left them in place and they are stretched as crack right now and well i figured they will make due and ill just replace them once they tear off completely.

Hey I think we left the lower radiator shroud piece loose (the one that clips on), I don't remember clipping it back or taking it off so you may want to reach in there and pull it out before the fan or a belt does it for you. Also zip tie the grill clip lower passenger side, we got it back in but it wasn't "clicking." This is all stuff I thought about after you left/when I stopped drinking lol :cheers:

hey guys, well its been a while since ive been on here seeing what u guys have been up to... well no updates yet since school and work have been consuming my life lately.

So i got a flat the other day and it was right in the middle of the tread so now its time to step up in size to the 35s ive been wanting since i have the BL on and will have gears in soon. I have been looking at tires and can not decide which to get so i figured id ask u guys which tires u prefer and would highly recommend?

I know Wes has some 315/70/17s BFG All Terrain's that he put on his Taco that don't even have 3k miles on them. He would sell those. He also would be willing to sell the black wheels that they are on too. Here is a pic of my runner posing with them on:

Well finally decided to change out my shocks since i had some free time today since two of my classes were cancelled and i didnt have to get to work right away.

So i changed out my shocks from the OME N86CS to OEM LC Shocks... Thnxs to Chris for ordering them for me. WHile i was doing that i figured id take off the spare tire bars under there since my spare no longer fits down there and i also adjusted my auto shifter since it was still slightly off due to the body lift.

I also noticed that the spacer for the steering column was being lifted on one side (remember seeing it in another thread but cant place it right now), I was just wondering if anyone knew if i needed to re-adjust it or if it was fine? Thnx

Hmm I don't know about the spacer I'll crawl under my truck tomorrow and check mine out and see if it looks the same

So finally got some free time and checked the steering column spacer by taking it off completely and putting it back on but got the same end result but did realize that my power steering bushings are trashed so just ordered some today.

The rear end links on the sway bar have been replaced and drive much better and to my surprise were apprx 1.5" longer then the facvtory ones (i got the Moog brand for a 2nd gen).

I am debating on whether or not to buy a MIG welder but not sure if a 90 amp would be wise to use for offroad applications and such (rear bumper, sliders, roof rack, etc)

the 90 amp is really hard to use on thick metal, i would save a lil more and get a better one, in 3-400 dollar range

lol just the person i was looking for... i changed fones and dont have ur number in mine anymore and was gonna see wat amperage u had on urs. I dont really wanna go too pricey on one since i will e using it to learn and will be doing small things for the most part, biggest thing id build is a rear bumper.

ok so lately i have just been doing maintenance such as changing out the steering rack bushings and found out mine were still good but since it was already apart figured id put the new ones in. No pics bc its kinda straight forward and boring...

Well after much deliberation with myself ive finally come to the conclusion that its time to take the body lift off and just get some new 33s instead of 35s since my mpgs arent great and since my DD died this is my only other form of transportation.

Well sold the daily driver yesterday and took out a bunch of items and gave some goodies away to my brother and kept some for myself. I had a set of 9004/9007 High/low HIDs laying around so decided to retrofit them into the Hella 500FFs on the ARB. Just finished the retrofit (took about an hour) and now im at work so hopefully ill have pics up of the final illumination of the product tomorrow night.

Sucks about the Maxima, though you did a good job with your lights.

Do you want to sell me your body lift? I'd like one for when I can afford adjusting the bumpers and sliders, etc.
