So would the 5000k CMB bulb be the right choice to go with the Xtreme LED Pro, assuming I want my fogs to either be the same or warmer than my low beams (I think pros are 5500K)?

Just to answer my own question, here's a good 4Runner specific install/review showing how to fan the heatsink and how to potentially zip tie the wires: https://trail4runner.com/2017/12/22/xenon-depot-4runner-led-headlights-install/

I'm pretty sure XD has already posted that, but thought it might be good to bring it back up again.

The other good pointers I got out of this thread were to make sure the LEDs are facing 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock when installed, and to also ensure the small arrows are lined up on that threaded connector.

Now to just find enough time to myself to get them installed...

I just installed the Extreme LED Pro high and low beam light sets in my 2018 4Runner. Since installing, when the engine is on the day time running lights (high beams) come on when lights are turned on to the marker/parking light setting. When the engine is off, the marker lights can be activated and the high beams/DTR lights remain off.

Is this normal? Anyone else experience this after installing these lights?

It would be nice to park at night with the engine on with the lights turned to the parking/marker light setting only on, and not have the high beams/DTRs on.

I was installing in my XD Xtreme Pros tonight, and one of the heatsink straps broke off. This was my first time bending it, and it just broke right off next to the base (I didn't break it by bending a bunch of times). I was able to fish it out of the headlight housing with a pair of forceps, but is this going to cause an issue with cooling? Since there are about 20 of them, I'd guess it would be a small decrease in cooling, but I certainly don't want to hamper performance or cause damage to anything by overheating.

That being said, I'm glad I finally got some time to install my Xtreme LED Pros, and the output seems pretty impressive! Still need to go for a drive in the dark though to test them out.

It took me some time to get them clocked correctly since passenger and driver side had to be clocked at different angles. One thing I noticed is that, although I drilled a perfect 1' hole in the dust covers, the wire grommet fit pretty loose in there. Seems like the grommet would fit better in a 7/8" hole, but I tried and the connector wouldn't fit through. I ended up just doing my best to seal it up with some clear GE Silicone, so I think it should be safe from moisture now.

With the LED upgrade, the functionality of your lights would not change besides the DRL being in full brightness.

Oh wow! I've never heard of that happening before. I can understand the fins may break after bending them multiple times but not on the first try. Since it's only one that broke off this won't have any impact on the performance or longevity of the bulb. Additionally, once you have installed them and bend them to fir the housing they are not going to break on there own without any pressure.

I took a drive around the neighborhood last night and, unfortunately, I'm going to have to go back to my modified H9s.

The Xtreme LED Pros look great against my garage door and have a hotspot/cutoff very much like stock, but they don't have nearly the "throw" that my H9s did. I took a drive around the neighborhood and the reduction in longer distance vision was immediately obvious. I was anticipating a slight reduction, but I can't really accept the level of performance as it is with the LEDs. I most likely should've gone with an HID kit from XD if I wanted same or better performance, so I'm not blaming them for this since they clearly state output is only slightly higher than the stock H11s. That being said, I can't really remember my stock H11s lacking this much throw either.

I'm pretty frustrated because, although I really like the look of LEDs, I'm now $100 shorter on cash, have holes drilled in my dust covers, and the back of my hand is all scratched up from working in the confined area of the driver side housing... all with nothing to show for it. Live and learn I suppose!

Sorry to hear you're not happy with the H11 Xtreme LED Pro kit that you got. I know you mentioned that beam pattern looked correct and you had to adjust one of them but to be sure are the LED diodes facing 3 and 9 o'clock?

If you still want to go with an HID kit then I can help you out with this. As for the H11 LED kit that you got, you may be able to still use them if you don't have anything installed in your fog lights as they will work for the H16 application too.

Basically, you would want the LED diodes to face side to side (Left / Right) if that makes more sense.

Ok, I think that's the same thing. It's a bit confusing on the 4Runner since the projector uses a side mounted bulb instead of one that mounts directly from the back.

Hi, Guys.

Highs / DRL -- The 4runner uses a pulsing signal to create a lower voltage in DRL mode. If you plan on installing an LED kit for this application then the light will flicker extremely fast. If you use our CANbus / PWM module then it will eliminate the flickering -- but it will cause the light to function at full / regular intensity.

Thanks for the info! I'm purchasing the PWM module pair for my 9005 XD Xtreme LEDs (so I can use DRLs safely and prevent the LEDs from long-term damage) and was wondering if this needs mounted to metal away from any plastic parts like I see some resistors call for. Can you let us know?

I received and installed the Xenon Depot low-beam LED kit this afternoon. First off, I have to say the whole kit screams quality...very impressed so far.

I was able to install no problem without drilling the dust covers. The LED driver and associated wiring tucked down just fine in the little void space underneath the light. Still left plenty of room to fan out the heat dissipating fans. Should I be worried about too much heat inside the dust cover area? If heat is not an issue, I don't see why everyone is drilling their dust covers.....

What are everyone's thoughts????
