xx-00 fat lip bumper grill discontinued!

My 00 Sports ed needs a new grill and my local stealership says the bare grill (to be painted to color match) is discontinued and the only thing available is in chrome. Insurance is paying for it so I don’t want to get one from the yard or aftermarket, unless someone can point me to an awesome aftermarket grill or even a TRD one! Then I’ll just tell them to pay me for the cost and I’ll get it myself! Insurance won’t get one from a yard anyway unless its paint ready.

I asked them to check if they can get any of the 2001/02 grills and they said they can order one.
Then I found these thread saying that an 01/02 grill will fit an 00 but I do not seem to find that confirms that it’s a direct fit, no mods necessary. Unless I missed it.

You can buy them already painted from online Toyota parts dealers.

Yup knew that what I don't know is if its a direct swap without any mods.

I have a custom color so I have to paint over whatever I get.

Why do you need a special color? Was you sport painted a diff color? I'm pretty sure they sell the black, green or silver sport grilles already painted.

I can't remember what site it was, but really any of the larger toyota parts dealers have them (dallas, camelbak, ect.). They are around $160 though.

I call BULLSHIT on that dealer. I just order one for a 97 and even the running board end caps. They might not have it local but they can get it. Just get yourself a part number from somebody else go in there and say order this for me

Actually I thank the dealer and the person who is handling my repair for being lazy or dumbxxx, I'll just ask for the $$$ and buy me a 02 grill on-line and make a little bit of $$. I can still have the shop paint and clear bra it.

Yeah it's a 96-98 bumper. My front end is a mix of all the years. It had the fat lip, but I swapped it for a 96-98 because the approach angles are better on the earlier bumper for wheeling. I would have destroyed my fat lip on the last wheeilng trip as I already scrapped up this one.

Yeah you need the larger emblem for the 01-02 grill.
