Yakima Landing Pad for 2007 4Runner

AFAIK the landing pad design only works on vehicles that have horizontal tracks that lay flat on top of the vehicle (like the 3rd gen 4runner.)
Since the 4th gen 4runner has side-rails you'd have to use a different system.
I use the Railgrabber for our Kayaks.

Around here (CO) it's super easy to find almost any Yakima part on CL, so many people buy Yakima or Thule stuff and leave it in their garage. I think I paid around $50 for my set of 4 railgrab towers. They're very easy to put on and take off, too. You need a good allen wrench but beyond that it takes like 5 minutes to put on all 4 towers.

The problem is that I have no rails on my 2007. I bought the car used and it only has the black rubber strips with openings for rail attachments. I was hoping to avoid buying OEM rails and go directly with the Control Towers / Landing Pad set up.
