do you have the extension on it? has your basket come in handy alot or does your cargo area work fine? what's the max weight you've put on it? sorry for all the questions, i'm just trying to do some research before i buy. i think i'd probably wouldn't use it much, but it would look good.

I received several compliments on the rack when it was installed. Good place to mount lights as well.

Why would you recommend the mega if you never use it anyway?
I don't use mine often, but it's very helpful when it's needed. I've had about 150lbs on mine. One thing to note is that leaving it on will put a hurt gas mileage. Oh, and I dont have the extension.
The picture you posted is the Mega with extension.

Here's a couple pictures of my Megawarrior with the 18" extension. Gas mileage will definitely drop due to the added wind resistance. Since I generally drive fast, I experienced a 2-2.5mpg drop. I was getting lower mpg figures than most V8 owners. There's significant wind noise as well. I had to add a sunroof wind deflector to smooth out the airflow and reduce the roof vibrations. Nowadays, I only put it on when I actually need it. With gas being around $3/ga, it's not worth it having it on all the time.

last pic. The rack basically clamps onto the crossbars, but I would recommend getting the optional locking brackets. No sense in getting approx $500 worth of equipment stolen. Some sporting good stores occasionally have 30% off sale on yakima products. It saved me a bundle. In case you're wondering, it takes me less than 10 min to install/remove the rack by myself. The key thing is to mark the crossbars once you have positioned it perfectly on the vehicle so that future installations would be quicker.

FYI: I took the wind deflector off of my rack....gas mileage is better without it. It did whistle a little in the wind but leaving the cargo net on will stop this.

Put the Yakima 38" fairing on the Load Warrior today. Reduces wind noise by 90% easy. Nice.
For some reason the fairing did not come with the basket and is shipped by Yakima with the Fairing. Make sure your dealer gets the fairing as well as the basket. Cost of the fairing is about $60.00 stand alone......

Couldn't disagree more. I have a loadwarrior without the extra extension. I use mine a lot. Don't really notice the extra road noise, and the drop in MPG's doesn't really hurt anymore than the 33's that I am running now. I would recommend it. Especially considering that you can remove it when you aren't using it. I keep mine on all the time b/c of the lights that I installed, because I use it so much, oh and because it looks B-A.

Go with the Loadwarrior!! I have had mine on since December and I love it!! You will notice a difference with road noise and also MPG. The Yakima products are a little pricey but worth it!!! The LW also gives the 4Runner a cool look with it on. You can also take it off within minutes and is great for loading things in it.

you can always mount an aux battery right behind the upper bar of lights. low profile.
