Yankees vs Phillies

Okay, now everything makes sense.. you're a Boston fan. Oh well, better luck next year. Must have really sucked to get swept by the Angels, but it was probably far better than getting crushed by the Yankees if the Red Sox would have made it past the Angels. I was actually looking forward to a Yanks/Sox ALCS. Maybe next year.

Yah maybe next year. Glad it's all clear. But hey I mean you guys have a power lineup and I for one thought that Lee would win, but he had awesome control of 4 or 5 pitches. Tonight should be interesting. Hope Pedro does not get lit up like the 4th of July =). Good Luck (Pours another Boston Lager and pulls up lawn chair):whip2:

I do respect real Yankee fans,it's the ones that have no clue about their history or have any real knowledge about baseball in general.

I don't really care for how the Yankees can think they can charge rediculous prices for everything and rape the real fans even more than other teams already do. $2500 seats? $12 beers and that's the cheap beers. Sorta arrogant by Yankee ownership but they do have some incredible talent and I can't deny that.

Giants charge 9$ and they lose. At least the NY Yanks win. and yes hard to take a family to a game these days. AA and AAA teams are fun and parking is typically minimal.....dog and a beer !

Well, somebody has to pay for those high player salaries.

BTW, it's pretty much common knowledge (at least in NY) that most of the Legends seats (the ones close to the field that you see on TV all the time) are mostly corporate owned. The average fan doesn't sit in those expensive seats. That's why you see so many empty seats on TV during a game that it's raining. Also, the Yankees management had a hard time selling all of those expensive seats in the new stadium this year.

But yes, everything is expensive, from parking and tickets, right up to beer/pretzels/hot dogs etc... But most people who live around here have the money and can afford to dump a lot of cash for a day out at the ballpark. I go to at least 10 games per season myself. This year, I was at more than 20, but a bunch of those games were free tickets given to me by people I know who couldn't make it to the game for one reason or another.

I don't know of a MLB team that is not pricey. There are parks that charge up to 50$ for parking. When I go to SF to see them and their opponent I stay close to the park and that saves the bucks. NYTimes had an interesting piece on the Yankees stadium vs your NYC cousins down the road. its 1255 here in Alaska 26 degrees and pretty with the new snow fall. Can hardly wait for the Downtown Philllies to beat up on your rich team bro. :bigok:

Not tonight...I think you'll see a completely different Yankees team on the field tonight. If they lose 2 in a row at home, I think the Yankees are in serious trouble because the next three are in Philly. But I expect them to win tonight, and probably win big.

i find myself in a real dilemna, im a die hard METS fan
i hate the philties just as much as i hate the evil emperior.
i find myself hoping no one scores.

alaskaman, what a way to ruin a perfectly good looking 4Runner :D!! I am starting to dislike the Phillies as much as the Red Sox! Let's go Yankees!!

Well after 5 weeks off work the inevitable happened. I got called in at 0500 with the temp 17 degrees. Wah Wah Wah.

Should be interesting in Game 3. Hamels if under control will be hard to hit, if not lots of big flys coming.

Now the NY pitch on the other hand handles Wurth but gets pouded by Ruiz. Eerratic did I hear?.....and sensitive but has plenty of post season play. He cries a little to much for a downtown fan like me, but hey, he's a guy. and you know the tears are just startin' in NYC.

Go Phils Go Beast. :vader:

I think tonight there may be some fireworks after Alex got plunked twice. It was a battlefield (wet) but a good contest. Not sure how Sabathia will fare. Phils lit him up pretty well last time.........
