'General Lee' Could Jump Back Into Production
TV Show Made Model Famous

POSTED: 10:59 a.m. EST March 11, 2004

The "Dukes of Hazzard" favorite ride could be coming back.

A Chrysler official told the Associate Press that the Dodge Charger will return for the 2006 model year.

The Hemi-powered Charger was one of the legendary muscle cars of the 1960s. (Learn how a Hemi engine, which has an unusually shaped combustion chamber, works.)

An orange 1969 Charger was the four-wheeled star of the old "The Dukes of Hazzard" TV show.

Producers wrecked more than 250 of them filming stunts for the program.

A company spokeswoman wouldn't comment on the report. But a Chrysler insider said the new Charger will be rear-wheel drive and share components with the Chrysler 300 sedan and Dodge Magnum wagon.

I knew it, I knew it, I knew it. But Jessica Simpson is TOO Blonde to be a Daisy. Daisy was hot, brunette, and pretty inteligent: and drove a Jeep Wrangler. My kind of woman.

I loved that show, now they are going to kill it: are they this desparate for new material?
