I am planning on installing a sound update to the Runner.

Santa is bringing Polk dB6501 components for the front for Xmas.

Regarding the rears, I am probably going to put in some coaxial ($50 range) unless you guys think otherwise. Ideas? (See down further.)

I think I am going to go with this amp.

What do you guys think? I have read reviews and people don't believe that it is 100 RMS. I guess I wouldn't argue with them. However, if it is close to 100 RMS and I put coxial speakers that are 60-70 RMS rating in the rears, will that cause damage?

I have done some reading on this amp. The reviews say that the birth sheet says 63 RMS. Would I be better of getting this amp?

Rockford Fosgate R300-4 (r3004) 300W, Prime Series 4-Channel

I am looking to not spend more than $130 on an amp, in case anyone has any other ideas.

Also, would I be better off running that Hifonics amp and getting some cheapish components for the back and install them for better bass? (I get that I will not have subwoofer sound without installing a subwoofer, however I don't want to do that right now.)

Your stereo will only be as good as the weekest link. The brands you mention, arent brands I myself would use but, if properly set up, im sure it can sound decent. Their are ALOT of factors that come into play with what an amp can/will do. if speakers you have are rated at 60 - 70 watts, an amp listed at 100 watts would be fine. an amps output depends on the signal going into the amp, the power fed to the amp, and the ohm load of the speakers connected to the amp. if the amp you choose can do 100 watts, that 100 watts would be if you had your head unit at high volume. also if you properly set the input sensitivity (gain) for the amp, it will play lower power to be easier on your speakers

As far as quality goes, do you think it would be better to go with the Rockford and less RMS than the Hifonics?

Will I notice a difference in that much RMS?

Honestly, you probably wouldnt "hear" a difference between the 2. in my own personal opinion of the 2, I myself would go with rockford. From my own personal preference, personal experience, and equipment I have. I prefer JL Audio. you can find good used JL Audio slash series amps, a 300/4 for $100-150. right now (after setting gain with a DMM) its pushing 85 watts, before I used a DMM to set the gain, i had 115 watts per channel
