I know the answer is probably here somewhere, but I've searched and read myself in circles to the point that I'm just not sure. I'm hoping someone will be kind enough to help me out without a lecture about the search button.

Yesterday I picked up an '06 Limited V8. It has XREAS and RAS (if that matters) and the 18" wheels and 265/60/18 tires. I REALLY like these wheels, and would like to stick with them. I know that limits my options for tires.

I had a set of BFG AT KO on my recently wrecked Tundra and loved everything about them. I would like to put a set on the runner but it appears the closest size is 265/65/18 - slightly larger. I also know there can be clearance issues with the BFG due to the squarish lugs.

So - will these tires fit on a stock rig or would it need some sort of lift? Also, would this change if I were to get some spidertrax spacers?

You are probably going to need a bit of a lift if you want NO rubbing. However, I installed a 1" daystar budget boost with 265/65/18 Terra Grapplers along with 1.5" spacers and had a little rub, but not much. Since then I've went to the Cornfed 3/2 lift and kept the spacers and now I have no rubbing.

Since I have the RAS, I think I would be limited to a 1/0 as my only option. When you say, "a little rubbing", can you elaborate? Was it only at full lock or ?? And where did it rub?

Also how did the spacers impact this? Did the spacers make it rub more or less? And I assume the rub was in the front and that the rears will fit OK?

With RAS I think you can adjust the rear height (search around) and only need to do a front lift.

If you just want a mild lift to help clear those tires, look at the Daystar Budget Boost. It should net close to 2" lift. You can adjust the air bags in the rear to lift a little if needed. See the Suspension FAQ sticky, the RAS is discussed there, along with the adjustment procedure.

Correct, you can raise the rear some but I believe ride quality will suffer (harsher) due to the increased air pressure. So I'm trying to figure out if the BFGs will fit with the RAS in the neutral position.

What I want is to run BFG AT/KO on the stock 18" wheels. The less I have to do to accomplish this, the better. I have no real desire to raise the vehicle other than possibly to remove the factory rake, and would want to do so only if needed to clear the tires. So I'm hoping someone has tried it and can say "yes you will be OK with those tires on stock setup" or "nope, you will have to do at least _____ ".

I have read the suspension FAQ sticky and it helps, but I'm hoping someone has tried exactly what I am looking to do and can say definitively what issues they ran into if any.

To give you a direct answer. No, you can't run those tires on stock suspension without rubbing.

You can trim the wheel well lining and or move the lining forward.

But the easy answer is no, they will not fit without rubbing.

My spacers were already on, so I'm going to take a stab at this.

Rear = just fine

Front = Earlier rubbing on the wheel well liner vents at about 3/4 turn or so.

Thanks, I think moving the liner and/or trimming is well within my comfort zone. Just to confirm - this was at the stock height before adding the lift, right? Or am I misreading?
