Yokohama Geolandar

As some of you know, I'm shopping around for tires, P265/65R17, the Yokohama Geolandars A/T-S popped up with good reviews, good in snow/ice/mud and quieter on the highway than the stock Dualers I have now, anyone here have the Yoko's? Opinion?

I don't have any experience w/ Geolanders...however I was debating on P265/70R17 Geolanders or Revos and I end up opt'ing for Revos.

Somebody here has them on a 3rd gen IIRC. They had nothing but good things to say especially considering the fair price. Get a set, post some pics and tell us what you think

Thanks for the post, always good to see them on the car, however, I'm not sure if I want something that beefy & Yoko's look as beefy. Are the 265/70r17's a taller tire than the 265/65r17's?

i had a set on my last 4Runner (3rd Gen) and put 60K miles on them with no problems. but it was all street miles. loved the way they looked and had a great ride...for what it's worth.

Yes, approx 1" taller and they won't rub on a stock 4th gen T4R unless you choose BFG A/T's. The Yok's will work good. Many have 'upgraded' to the 70 profile tire with good results.

A/T-s is nice, but if you want a more civilized ride on the highway, then i would get HT-S.

For what its worth, I had the Yoko's on my Range Rover. They were great on pavement, quiet, good traction in the wet, and smooth ride. They were not too great in the sand, but, they are geared more toward on road, rather than off road use.

These are what came on my T4R when I bought her used, last November.
They will not be on her by the time the snow flies again.

They suck on snow.

I have had the them on my truck for about a year now. On my old ride I ran BFG's and was religious about rotating them...but them come with a price. I found a set of the Yoks at a Discount Tire near my house...did some internet research and pulled the trigger. The are a quiet tire and I don't have any problem with them in the snow. Not as good as the old BFG's but good bang for the buck. I'm really hoping that I get the mileage out of them that they are rated for...as for off road...I have done some lazy trails nothing all that techincal and they have not given me any trouble. I like them, and would buy them again.

I have the yokos ats in 265/70. I think they are a great tire for some moderate off road use. They fit fine on my rig when I had no lift whatsoever. Maybe some slight rubbing at full turn. I would def buy them again.

Well, pulled the trigger, ended up with Yokohama Geolandar AT-S P265/65r17, $150.00 each installed plus tax, so far so good, quiet and better handeling than the stock Dulers. A little beefier than I wanted, but for what I was looking for & the price, I think it was the best option, wish me luck, pics soon.

You'll be happy with them. I had them for five years on my Montero Sport and were great. I just put a set on my T4R and I think the new generation of tires are better. I do some moderate offroading and they are great. real good in the snow as well. Good luck.

Good choice! I had mine siped thru Discount tire and they ride smoothly on the freeway. It also helped my braking distance.
