Yotamatt's Wife's 2011 T4R Build

Here's my build page for my wife's 4runner. I have a 2012 Tacoma and am very active on Tacomaworld.com
Signed up here to try and learn as much as I did on there. So to the truck.

Traded in our 2012 Camry SE for a 2011 4runner SR5 V6 4x4 in silver. Came pretty well equipped with sunroof, power everything, party mode, and rear dvd system.

Here it is the night we brought it home

Few days later I took the running boards off and blacked out all the chrome with plastidip

After some discussion we decided we were going to do a mild lift.
Decided to go with Bilstein 5100s front and rear for shocks. Going to set the shocks at 2.5" lift and throwing a toytec toytec top plate spacer on as well to get a full 3". In the rear it will have toytec 2.0 superflex springs. Also got 1.25" spidertraxx wheel spacers for all 4 wheels and will run 285/70/17 Nitto Trail Grapplers on the factory wheels.

Here's the lift, tires will be here monday and i will install everything tuesday.

So got the lift installed..took about 3 hours with a buddy, air tools, and I have my own car lift and wall mount strut compressor

Tires were delayed in shippng due to weather so still waiting on those..

Honestly dude..your 4runner is what sold her on it..she's been talking about it forever..then at the freezing cold meet at bass pro she said..I want a 4runner for sure. .and i want it lifted. .I asked her why she was so sure and she said..and no I quote. ."did you see that gray one there..it was beautiful" :thumbsup:

Great looking truck. I posted in the lifted picture thread but figured I'd post here too.

I've got and 2001 4R that I'll be upgrading soon to a 2010+. I'm looking to exactly your lift and tires. Great setup. I'm curious how the spacers changed the look from the front and back. Also, how's the ride? Anything you'd do differently?

What are the details on the new head unit/radio install, costs, ease of doing? I am looking to upgrade my radio, because I am not really satisfied with the factory unit.

It's a pioneer avic z140bt...bluetooth, navigation, sirius radio, dvd all the good stuff....I had the radio already but it was like 1000 new..dash kit and all harnesses were like 50 bucks but if you order a new one from crutchfield they'll give you all that for free...install was very easy...just gotta swap some stuff over to the new dash kit like a vents and emergency flasher button

Not much different that building up the Tacoma. Looks great, i'm lifting ours as soon as this damn rain stops.

She used to be that way..until she got the 4runner

And the rack was actually free! So I couldn't pass it up

Thanks...according to the fuel computer thing on the dash right at 18.5 mpg avg....speedo not corrected

i almost spit my beer out reading this. The wifey has a 12 GMC terrain. the thing drives me nuts with the stock height and lights and nothing plasti dipped anything. when i did my lights and lift and to this day she doesnt understand why...sorry didnt mean to hijack the thread but im loving the 5th gen more and more.
