you CAN change the color of your clock

yeah there are 2 bulbs that go in there. they are a 3mm neo-wedge base bulb. you can get them from v-leds and a couple other places

To get a white clock you need a purple/violet filter. this pic is from the 1st attempt on the 1st page where i used that thick purple plastic organizer and as you can see it blurs the clock out, looks like crap IMO. But let me know i still have some purples left. i just sent out an order today for vegeetz

hopefully i get those swatches by friday... it is going to be sunny on saturday in los angeles. a perfect day to replace bulbs and place swatches.

i think they will make it by then, I hate working in the cold too. Give yourself plenty of time to do LED's if i remember right, i did all mine out in the cold, it took me forever and things were broke. it was a big mess.

one of the violet ones i sent is gonna give you a good white. I had one called gypsy pink that gave a perfect white output I found one very similar to it so I'm thinking its gonna do the trick

Post some pics when your done. i still have yet to see anyone post a blue one

has anyone changed the bulbs for the PRND2L on the dash?

Also I havent come across anyone changing the bulbs for the status lights, ie, parking brake, seat belt, cel etc? Is it because it is not safe to do so?

So i installed the swatch... but after reassembly, it still looks green. The brown plastic cover on the clock reconverts the blue back to green lol.

really? dangit. I think i have some darker blue's the only problem is you may not be able to see it during the day. I can send those out to you. how did the white's turn out?

No clue on the white... after putting the new leds... I have a serious battery drain issue.

1st night with new LEDs, next morning battery dead??

Replaced battery with new one from store, battery dead again....

wow really? That's really strange, LED's are supposed to draw less current from your battery. Even if you got the wrong size such as a bigger LED. I don't think it would even come close to putting out the strain as halogen bulb would.

There may be a thread here on this. sorry i cant help i have no clue what it could be

Just did the Kaboom bottle mod, looks great! As other people have said, it is dim, and I didn't feel like dremeling out the faceplate of the old clock thing, and gluing on the kaboom bottle, too much work. One day. I'll post up some pics in a bit, video for the Tubers, as well.

Sorry, I never got an update on this thread. It looks bright, because my camera saw how dark it was and kept the shutter open too long. It is VERY dim in real life, if it was thinner it would be much better.

yeah I was actually going to bump this thread. I've got to do a project for school where i pretty much have to start a business so I'm gonna use this for my project. I'll order another swatch book and get all the colors that actually work, then order some full sheets of the ones that work.

Right now all i have a ton of random colors but the most popular ones I'm pretty much out. (white blue and red) I have a red-orange that will give you a redish clock and it's actually the same color that i have in mine currently. I'll probably order the book today and get things going again. thanks for your guys patience!

Cool man, hope everything goes well. I know with the demand for those things on here it should. Can you still see your red clock pretty well in the daylight?

oh yeah. With sunglasses it's a little harder but I rarely ever have a problem not seeing it. IMO the red comes out the best

just so you know the red i do have is an orange red which is like the one i'm running now as seen in the pics. I can cut it and send you both a piece or whatever. Sorry I haven't been able to stop by the studio store and get some more of these. The new book should be here in a few days hopefully!
