Yes, I understand it's super clean. Yes, I also understand that it is basically a 115k mile truck, and with the exchange rate it's an $8000 USD truck but still.

For that price, I also want a manual and every single receipt and work order from PDI!

Then again, reminds me that what I though was a stupid price that I paid for mine actually wasn't that bad...

$8k USD for a 115k mile 4runner is pretty reasonable actually. Based on current market prices across the whole country.

I'm sure I'm just jaded but I just feel it's quite high. At the end of the day it is still a $10K+ vehicle that is 15 years old. I do understand that its one tough pig that with proper maintenance will last basically forever.

Then again I take a look at Taco prices and kick myself in the ass that I ever sold my '07 that I bought for $22K. I also bought an '02 F-350 with a 7.3L Powertroke for $4500 in 2008.

Regardless, those damn kids need to get off my lawn!

Interesting how it has a locking rear diff, I thought those weren't available on 2001 and 02. Edit: Oops, I see that is centre differential. I though all 4WD have locking centre diff?

Also it looks like the hood doesn't close properly, maybe it isn't fully closed.

Also he calls it a Limited but it is SR5, maybe that's why he doesn't show a rear photo which has lettering of the trim package.

That's a good one! I recall seeing a 100-series cruiser on the island for a stupid price, $25K or so.

I always thought I paid too much, personally.

I dont think that is particularly unreasonable. I paid 6k for my 2002 with 134k. Single owner and very clean other than new-but-unpainted front and rear bumpers (was involved in a mild jam up, and they just replaced the bunpers before selling). So, 8k in excellent condition with 115k sounds totally fair.

Though, honestly, at these vehicles' age I am not hugely concerned about the mileage. For the most part, you can still assume they have been started about the same number of times (just with shorter commutes or fewer road trips), seen the same number of winters, etc. It is easy to fantasize about the previous owner being some old man who kept it in a climate-controlled garage and only took it out once a week to drive through the park before washing it and tucking it back in. But really, low mileage probably just means they worked close to home and didnt take many road trips.

Anyways, if it is clean I wouldnt feel bad about that purchase!

Pretty sure I just saw a '98 or something with 295K on it for $8k somewhere near me. You still have a ways to go before you get to CO prices.

I was curious, and checked KBB for that 4Runner. If it truly is in perfect condition, it would still only be in the $6K range, there is no way that it's worth $13K.

Truth! And the PNW is known for having silly prices too. I feel the same way about housing prices, actually.

Then again, at least I can tell myself if I ever wanted to sell my '99 I could likely recover what I paid!

Might I recommend a Frontier... just as many quality control issues for less money... and it's got a way better frame... and the engine is just as harsh... but makes more power.
