well shoot, if we are talking about no limit, total dream 4x4, then I would definitely take an IMI Combat Guard:

Nanuet NY... I grew up in Monsey off of Saddle River rd. Worked at Manley Chevrolet (no longer there) as a front line mechanic off of 59. I actually had a K-5 Blazer back then with a plow on it. Monsey Elementary, Kakiat Jr.H and Spring Valley Sr. H. Small world we live in...Went back two years ago to visit family and didn't recognize a thing. Used to sneak into the old 59 drive in.

My only experience with 4 wheel drives are in order:
K-5 Blazer - (Family owned) Nothing but a work horse for us in New York. Used it to plow snow, tow our rail, hunting and fishing. One of the best 4x4's chevy made. I think it was a 74.
My first 4x4 was an AMC CJ7 Renegade with the 304 V-8. Loved it. Punched it out and sleeved it. Threw a high lift low duration sigurson cam with tappet lifters and edelbrock torquer manifold and a rochester quadrajet on it. The holley flooded too many times. Four core radiator, MSD, accel ignition, headers and all the goodies you would expect to see. BFG All terrains were the thing back then on chrome wheels. Was living in AZ then and would hit the Tanque Verde Wash/Sabino Canyon all the time. Did some great trails up in Mt Lemmon.
My last one that I loved and wish I still had was the Mitsubishi Delica when I lived in Japan. Here's a picture of it. (It's on page one of my build) one of the best 4x4's for skiing and mountaineering. So spacious. We would throw all of our climbing gear in there and drive all over Japan climbing and camping out. My first one had two sliding doors in the back. One on each side. So cool! My next one was more modern. In the winter we would throw all of our ice tools, ropes, helmets, plastic boots in the back, fire up the MSR and cook right inside. Seats folded down and swiveled. Yea, one of my all time favorites.
If I wasn't the original owner of the 4runner I have now, I would have bought a Land Cruiser for overlanding. But since I own this one, there was no reason to go buy something else. Pleased with what I have.
Did anyone see the Bently SUV? Jeez. Qtr mil.

My dad had this way back on our small farm in Colombia, now I wish we could of kept it (the farm and the LR).
