Your experience with bigger tires and gas mileage

So It's that time again for some new tires and I was just wondering, those of you that have gone with 285/70/17's, how much of a drop in gas mileage did you notice? I have 265/70/17 Revos and love them, but I'm thinking about going with the Daystar 3/2 and possibly spidertrax. I already get pretty crappy mileage now (generally 13-14 around town and 17ish highway), but I knew that going in...I'm just wondering how much that large of a jump in size will kill my mileage even more.
Thanks for any responses...also, if you have any pros or cons of going with that big of a tire, please give me your opinion.

It will definitely get worse, and will further worsen if you decide to get LT tires, due to their increased weight.

I am running 255 MT's so I can't give any firsthand experience or numbers.

If you are worried about milage ..... I think you answered your own question with the 285's.

Well, I guess I'm worried about gas mileage, but not "that" worried. Mine is already crappy enough, so really I'm just trying to find people with a good enough argument to talk me into or out of buying bigger tires. If we're talking .5 mpg drop, then that's not really a big deal, but if we're into the +2 mpg, then I would reconsider. I really want to get a feel for people that have done this and if they are happy with their choice.
