Your experience with OME 906 Coils?

I'm currently looking at some 906 coils on craigslist for $100. I was wondering what your guys experience was if you have owned them or still use em. also is this a good deal for them? i see that they run for $170 on toytecs site.
EDIT: sorry for leaving out some information. They are brand new!

How many miles? I love mine. There are definitely better coils but for not for$100. If they don't have a lot of miles on them id snatch them up.
 
I have a 98 with 906 coils. They make the truck sit at a good height and are strong. I would just buy new just to avoid all the issues of buying used. Brand new for only $70 more.
 
I ran 906's for about 15k miles and they were great. I think I sold them for $80, $100 is too high unless they are basically brand new.
 
Just installed them on mine for a 2" lift along with Billy's.

I get a bit of the hops going fast over bumps. Other than that they seem fine. I hear they actually get softer with load. Haven't tried that yet.
 
If you are not going for an all out huge lift, I'd recommend them all day. I run a pair in the back along with some tall 99 coils up front, with HD billies all around and couldn't be happier.

They can be stiff in the back.

$100 is too much. For that price save some more $$$ and buy new.

Hey bro im also gonna run that same lift you have
Which perch do you have your billys on for the front 99 coils to go good with the 906 springs?
 
We recently went with 906s in the back and 881s in the front. I love them when we hit the dirt. The lift is right for what we do, and when we go on trips into the desert we are weighed down so need the heavier duty support.

Kind of wondering why you would go with used though. Suspension systems don't last forever.

No clue, will have to check. My brother put them on since his best friend has a wall mounted spring compressor.

In fact I will take a pic and post sometime soon.
 
906 in back, 880s in front, Nitrochargers all around. They will feel a little stiffer than stock on the road unless you're weighed down, but once you get in the dirt your truck just glides. Not too soggy, not to stiff, I can't recommend them enough.

Would you guys be able to post some fender to hub measurements of your set ups?

These are the two setups I'm looking at. Should provide a modest lift without going crazy and messing up alignments, CV boots, etc.
 
Thanks! I'm at just under 20 in the front and just under 21 in the back so it's about 2 inches from stock 2001 suspension. That sounds perfect for me. Are issues with the CV boots common with only a 2 inch lift?
 
I have the 906s in the rear now for 2 years and 45k miles. I love mine. Stiffer than stock but they handle weight so well. I have twice pulled a 3500# trailer and the ass end only went down 1 inch.

I agree with everyone else. Unless they are close to new I would just order them online. Toytec.com ships them out quick.

OME advertises 2-2.5 inches for those coils with no additional weight, so that sounds about right. Can't speak for others, but I haven't had any CV issues so far.
 
It is raining here so no pics today.

If I had more disposable income five years ago I would have been like Kid and grabbed some 880s as well. I have had two boots rip but that is due to the O'Reilly CVs and Firestone's somewhat incompetent techs.
 
I recently put some 906's on the wife's '01 to level it out. Needed a suspension replacement so I went cheap with rockauto. I got assembled coilovers so I didn't have to mess with spring compressors. They're about 1" taller than stock so I still had rear sag. OME's account for gas tank (one is taller than the other). Most other cheap aftermarket ones do not. They're worth a few extra bucks. I payed $30 for a set of moogs, then spent the $170 to remedy the problem. Just get the new OME's. You'll be happy.
