Your take on TRD Pro grille and blacking out the chromes on Ltd?

Looks like early 5th Gen doesn’t have as much chrome as late 5th Gen does.

How is this done (Pro/LE front end)? All the threads I’ve read suggest you have to replace the entire front end in order to fit the TRD Pro “TOYOTA” in front. What parts did you buy? Did you cut it in? I am doing this if I can. Thx

I’m sorry but chrome does not belong on the Runner regardless of trim level. I blacked out all my chrome on my SR5 and I suggest you do the same. I like the bottom pic better but because of how much black you’ll have, definitely pass on the bug deflector.

Have you done this? I emailed the guys at TSO and he said people have done it, but the limited has a curved front so it doesn’t line up exactly. He also said some trimming needed to be done but didn’t specify where. I’m very interested in doing this as well!

I have not done this on a limited, however I know there are a handful of people on here that have. I was simply pointing you in the direction of the TSO grill because of their great customer service and quality product.

I think I would like to see more examples of LE chrome changed to body color as opposed to just blacked out. I think it could look really slick.

Yes, have you had any problems with gaps? It looks really good. I just got a T4R limited in black and would love to do the TRD Pro grille.

Also, i see that you lifted it.. how much did you lift it?

Actually it fits really good, perfect actually. I did a little modifying and there are no gaps. I have a Daystar spacer lift, 2.5" I believe. Ride was unaffected.

Chrome sucks, even Toyota got into the bidness of blacking out the T4R with the dark negligee package.

Heritage or TRD Pro Grille on 2018 4Runner Limited

Still trying to decipher what I need to do this. Everything I read says that the TRD Pro grille won't work on the Limited, but then I see Limited's with the TRD Pro or Heritage (?) grill - I want it. Help!
