Your thoughts on tires and rims

So I have a toytec 3" lift intalled with new control arms.

I don't want to go crazy with super large tires, I was thinking of getting 285 60r18.

I know the ICON Lift recommends 285 75r16 with 5 inch backspacing.
So I am assuming 285 60r18 should fit with minimal trimming (hoping to avoid the body mount chop mentioned in the faq regarding larger 285/70R17), but I figured I'd ask.

According to my calcs,
the stock 265 65r17 are 30.5 inch diameter
and the 285s are 31.5
sidewall 6.8" vs 6.7"


Any advice, pros, cons, rants?

I was hoping to find a few people that have 285s to get their feedback.

Well you'd probably have less trimming since the equivalent of a 285/70/17 is 285/65/18. So you'll have a shorter sidewall with a 285/60/18.

I have the same lift and went 275x65x18

I was too thinking about 285's but after looking on here and talking to guys at shop went with 275's. I would be curious to see how 285's look but the way my 275's fit is just about perfect imo.

IMO taller tires look better on our trucks.

Our trucks are big, so shorter wider tires look weird to me.

285/75 All terrains shouldn't rub to bad. You will have to cut about2 inches up on your front fender liner. Where that buldge is.

Go with a 285/75. Its about a 32.8. It'll look good!

Back when I had 285/70/17's No BL, No body mount chop, minimal trimming approx 3.5 " lift at the time
