Zombie Apocalypse

WHOA, if you actually check out the site for that jeep its pretty cool! its an automatic with a hood bra! crazy hardcore! even better is all the extra embroidery they have put in there for you! :driving:

That does it! I'm officialy going to make my 4runner a Zombie Appoc (ZA) vehicle! Now where can I get a train's cow catcher cheap?

Before anyone slams me with criticism I must say that I LOVE my 3rd gen Runner I think its a top notch vehicle. However it would not be my choice of vehicle. I would probably turn to my 2010 VW Golf Diesel Wagon during a zombie apocalypse for several reasons.

The distance traveled on a tank of Diesel is more than twice that of a 4runner. Even a 4Runner with a diesel conversion or a hilux does not compare. Last time my wife and I took a trip cross country we got 1200km's a tank on the highway with minimal stops.

When the world goes in to that sort of a panic the first thing that will happen is the pumps will be running dry.
I can stop at any fast food joint or grocery store and get as much vegetable oil as I can. Obviously I'd have to convert it in to bio-Diesel first which is a faster process than making ethanol out of corn or potatoes.

Note: Running Pure ethanol in my 4Runner over time will destroy seals and damage engine components. Running bio diesel in my Golf can clog my injectors at worst.

Another issue we'll have is people killing other people just so they can take their stuff to survive. I cant blame them really, it'll be survival of the fittest. The 4Runner is not exactly the fastest vehicle to use when running from a bunch of angry guys with guns in the back of a pickup. The Golf will get me out of these situations faster. I can easily hit 200kph if necessary to lose the bad guys, I guess if I get the odd guy coming after me in a Porsche then I'd be worried.

Yes I do realize that I cant go off road and that is the only con I can see with choosing this car. I put a bit of thought in to this and factored in the geographical area that I would be traveling in. Assuming I would head south like the rest of us and seeing as I live in Alberta where we have wide spread highway systems. I would not expect to run in to any grid lock full of abandoned vehicles as one would expect in a concrete jungle ie. Ontario, New York and the rest of the eastern coast.

Now I say again I am not bashing the 4runner as I think it is an incredible machine and will indeed go places my VW cant. But seeing the circumstances I may be faced with I would not make it my #1 choice.

That **** is messed up man. I bet he was dead after the first bullet but the adrenalin and the drugs kept him coming at the cop. They say they heard 6 shots and chances are the cop didn't miss a single one. Any normal human would of dropped after the first one.

I knew ya'll would have a handle on the Miami Zombie before I could get on here! In the famous words of Rickey Bobby "That just happened!" Nuff sed, my $hit's packed, guns loaded (as usual), and full tanks of 12 month gas. Hope it lasts!

I must have a magic gas can cuz my 5gal jerry can has been holding gas for 3 years now, sitting outside and my lawnmower eats it with no gripes. Just sayin....;): No, it's not gonna last much longer but I agree with Tango71, the first couple weeks will be us fighting with each other over resources. So please don't show up to a gun fight with a knife, I won't feel bad, especially if it's in a Zombie Apocalypse Jeep.

The 4Runner is still my #1 escape route. Of course I'll have expanded metal over all the glass and full skids.

Hope to see ya'll before ur face get's eaten off!

I'm not saying I'll share my supplies with y'all, but if you have a way to defend yourself and youre near Houston, I got your back.

I'm thinking t4r convoy to safe zone.

:gun5:

Better prepare for the upcoming pandemic!!!

OK. So this thread died quickly. That's too bad....

First: The dude in Miami was just stoned. That's right. Reefer. That's it.

Third: What vehicle would I choose? It would either be the 4Runner, or I would steal one of these b!tches:

MRAP - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sure, they might not be fast, but @ 14 tons, and ARMORED, there isn't a Zombie in the world that will stop one of these. All I'd have to worry about is other people's perimiters. PLUS, it has a turrett built in. Mount a M249 SAW or a M240B, and I'd be good to go. The .50Cal is great, but too big, and the ammo is to big to be able to stack alot of it in there.

As for the Runner, I've got her where I almost want her right now. I've got the lockers front and rear, Skids, and a custom gas tank. Working on bumpers. The only thing I would need would be my weapons. Again, thinking a M249 SAW or a M240B, along with a M4 with a M203 40mm grenade launcher. The ammount of ammo that I could keep in the back of the Runner would be double than what I could keep with anything larger.

If I could, I would grab one of these for extra storage. MRE's, water cans, gas cans, ammo. You name it, It would go back there.

As for medical supplies: got that covered. I ALWAYS have a MEDBAG in the back of my 4Runner with anything from an EPI-PEN to QuickClot Combat Guaze.

I've thought this out waaaaaaaayyyyyyy too much.......

You would take a saw or 240 over the m2? Obviously you have not used a .50... I have used all three "in country" and by far I would take the .05. An ammo can for a .50 holds 200 rounds, and thehe 240 ammo can only holds 200 as well, so their is no difference. Sure .50 weighs more, but its raw power is over 4x that of a 7.62. And lest not forget that you can get APHE rounds for the .50 as well as depleted uranium that will penetrate armor plating and keep going... IMO the .50 is the best weapon system to have mounted -keep the saws and 240s for dismounted use... Best option would be the CORWS.

You guys ever watch youtube videos of apache helicopters?? The machine gun is controlled by a headset the pilot (or co-pilot) wears, so that the gun points at whatever the pilot is looking at. I would rig one of those to my roof and have a good time :driving:
