Thanks! We'll be taking it for a short trip to a local state park next weekend.
Stopped by the dealer for the 10k service (10,221 miles) (minus oil change) and they checked the yellow box on paperwork for needs replaced soon on my air filter. The one that was changed a week ago....Anyway, had them remove the "unlock all doors" when shifted into Park.

Spent the weekend out at Cleburne State Park with my wife and her family. Had a good time hanging out and kayaking. Tent camping was a little chilly at 35°, but we made it work with our new buddy heater. In laws have been enjoying their new truck and 5th wheel. Then we went to Dinosaur Valley State Park to check out the prints and walk around.
Heater was turned on to warm up tent before sleeping, we didn't sleep with it on all night.

Just read all the pages and that trip to CO seems like so much fun. Just got our TRD pro 3 weeks ago and just hit 5k miles. Took it on a road trip to CA. I also live in TX so hopefully we can join you guys on a trip like that one day.

Haha yea, I've been meaning to stop by and take a picture on my bike every time I passed it but never stopped. Had time today so we stopped. Aggie barn in the background is a plus, whoop!

Earlier in my thread someone commented on the fact that I was getting out and enjoying my stock 4R. They liked that I didn't need all of the cool toys to get out and enjoy the scenery. I really appreciated that comment and wanted to stick with it. However, I get bored easily and need things to help pass the time. I've ordered a few things for this 4R that I don't need, but think would be fun. After building up my Jeep though, I know that I don't want to go too crazy with this vehicle.
Roof Top Tents (RTT) are the cool toys that little kids dream of. Well I've been eyeballing them for the better part of this year and debated going RTT, making a trailer w/ RTT, a teardrop, or just good old fashion ground camping. I was finally convincing myself that I didn't need any of the above and could ground tent it. In fact, just yesterday I told my wife "I don't think we need a RTT". Well I often stay up late and end up online shopping silly things. Last night I was just browsing cheap RTTs, thinking I could get a no-name RTT from the same factory in China that the big boys come from, on the cheap. Well I noticed 4WD Hardware was having a sale on Smittybilt products, so I checked on the RTT. So at 0230, I ordered a RTT. I already received a shipping notification and plan on using on our camping trip to the Ozark National Forest on Christmas. Will post pics after it arrives and gets mounted.

Damn for sub $500 I would have jumped on that too. Awesome deal you got.New toy. Smittybilt Overland RTT. Will be a good size for me and the wife, and for sub $500 I couldn't pass it up. Got some new camping chairs too.

Thanks, and thanks for asking! It's about 90% now; I can put on shoes, and run if I have to. It would be better if I would keep still, but that is very hard for me to do. I returned to work this past week.
I wasn't very sold on purchasing a tent for $1k plus because I wasn't sure how much it would get used, for half price I feel like a couple nights in it vs a hotel will pay for itself.
